Celebrity Mask Requirements - Thinking about jumping ship

We are currently booked on a 14 day Circle Caribbean cruise in February on the Emerald Princess. Princess now has a "sip and cover" policy on all inside locations for cruises 10 days or longer. Frankly, we can't imagine sitting in an inside bar with masks, pulling down the mask for a "sip" and then "covering" your mouth with the mask after the sip. We enjoy meeting friends at the bars, theatres or casinos. We are not anti-mask; but we would prefer a vacation where we are not constantly masked. We are thinking about transferring to a Celebrity cruise. We are fully vaccinated and boosted. What are the current mask requirements on Celebrity? Can we go to a bar, restaurant or casino without a mask?

Currently on the Edge and masks are not required for vaccinated guests, unvaccinated guests under under 12 are required to wear masks.

Sailings out of the US currently do not require masks to be worn on board if you are fully vaccinated.

No masks inside the ship required for US departures on Celebrity ships for vaccinated pax. Just off 21 days on Equinox.

Yep. No masks on sailings from the USA. The other protocols are a big help that way. 

 

It was very nice, recently, to be on a ship where everyone was fully vaccinated and everyone had tested negative only days prior.

Keep in mind that Celebrity could change their policy at any time, though, so it's not a guarantee.  Seems to have been successful for several months now, so that's a good sign.  OTOH, the policies for all cruise lines have been pretty fluid and even Celebrity's have changed, often at the last minute (testing requirements in particular).

Currently in the U.S   -  Caribbean and Pacific Coastal no masks required on the ship.    About 15% choose to wear them anyway.

 

You are required to wear masks in Terminals, Excursions and Tenders

Sailed Alaska on the Millennium in August. Took off the mask once boarded and only had to put it back on again on some of the excursions (ex helicopters).  Otherwise, a wonderful mask-free experience. We were originally booked on a similar RCCL cruise but they required masks in all indoor locations so we "jumped ship" to Celebrity and had a blast!

We are cancelling a cruise on the Sky Princess because of their absurd masking requirements.  Rebooking, same days, on Celebrity in the Caribbean.

Don't blame you but keep in mind, the policy can change with little or notice even after you are underway.  Hope it doesn't...Celerity really seems to have done this so well from what all of the folks that have sailed are saying.

We just got off of the Celebrity Summit.  Masks only in the terminal and I think when getting off of the ship in a port.  No masks on the ship.  The crew wears them inside.  All very safe!!

7 day Alaska was wonderful. No masks inside the ship. Would not do sip and cover.

Being that your cruise isn't until February, things really could change over the winter...  so if you do decide to switch, keep in mind you may just end up with masks on anyway...  We're on HAL in a little over 3 weeks, their mask policy indoors is similar to princess, we will adapt & have a great time 🙂
