What reason was given for the additional stop if you don't mind my asking?

Have Dog will probably know; I didn't hear that announcement and don't want to speculate. We were just told the casino will close at 9:30 and reopen about 30 minutes after we leave Ensenada.

Hi! @BlueFish2000 Even on the inaugural we took together this past July we had a couple of cases.

I think it’s almost impossible to not not have any Covid on board.

@RogueRamblers is correct that our CD has been put into isolation. I can’t confirm if that’s because of a positive test or as a close contact. @RogueRamblersif there is any way for you to get some first hand text content from those who are currently quarantined onboard I’m sure there are many who would be most appreciative.

@BlueFish2000why don’t you join @CruiseRaiderand I on the Jan 31 Ruby sailing

I have no way to communicate with those who are quarantined. We just happened to sit at the table next to this woman's parents, and we didn't even exchange names.

He said they were transferring crew members to another Princess ship.

Ohhhh...
Translation.. we have infected crew we need to quarantine on a ship we have parked there.  Looks like it's Royal.
Not a big surprise as most of the cruise lines are doing it.

If you tell them at the beginning that their tip depends on NOT trying to upsell you at the end, it has an AMAZING effect!!

We usually adjust up for great service; the promise to do that or to remove it it they do the sales pitch will give you results

The automatically included tip (18% ?) cannot be removed,

In my opinion, the included tip based on a percentage of the spa's high prices is sufficient.

Ok, so we just offloaded 30 very healthy looking crew members from Ruby to Royal. 😊

I am glad to hear that. The captain noon announcement simply said we were transferring crew. Unlike the stop in Cabo he mentioned nothing about whether or not it was covid related. Read into that what you will. However, the crew are tested mercilessly. It is very difficult for them but by finding every asymptotic case and getting it off the ship ASAP keeps Princess and us sailing.

Captain did say that the crew member we dropped at Cabo for hospital care was doing well and some important tests came back negative. Yeah!

Covid is here to stay but with so many asymptotic and mild symptom cases I hope it goes to isolation in your cabin.

This is what I was told:  We just made an unscheduled stop, aboard the Ruby, at Ensenada on the way back to San Francisco, to transfer 30'ish crew to the Royal. Recrewing to bring the Royal back online. — in Ensenada, Baja California.

I doubt it ...

Royal is not scheduled now until May 2, 2022 to restart

We’re supposed to board tomorrow, but it looks like there will be a delay in the Ruby docking in San Francisco. Has there been an announcement to that effect?

Not at all… in fact, the captain announced he expects to dock in San Francisco at the scheduled time.

We happened to be leaving the production show at the time when a group of about 30  very healthy looking and crew members were walking through the casino.  They announced, we will be back!  They all seemed to be smiling and even looked very happy!  Maybe they were looking forward to getting their own stateroom with a balcony.  ??
I’m not sure why they were being disembarked .. they looked very happy!
I also don’t know if we received any other crew members on the Ruby during the transfer.
I read that there were some newly canceled cruises on the Princess website, the Royal being amongst them.

BTW, my friend’s rescheduled spa service went swimmingly!  She just loved it!

I guess I should have added "this is what I say, YMMV"

On our cruise I was wondering if they were swapping out the production show entertainers to different ships so they did not have to have full casts on each ship.  We did not see any production show staff until the day of first production show on the Majestic.......

A staff member at Guest Services on the Ruby told me this morning that in addition to the crew members one passenger was transferred for medical care.  He said it was not unrelated to Covid.

So that means it was Covid related.

Yes, I wondered about the double negative.  I wonder if it was a typo, or maybe just misspoken trying to emphasize the "negative"?  All of the other reports seem to indicate not Covid related.
