Diamond Plus at 18-20 years old - what do you get?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone can tell me what Diamond plus members who are in the 18-20 year old range get for benefits/amenities. Do they get all of the same things as D+ that are 21 and up except the 5 drinks per day and bonus amenities can only be non-alcoholic when sailing out of the US? I'm assuming they get the same internet, photos, coupons, etc.

I did email CAS but it's been nearly 2 weeks so I figured I'd get a faster response here.

Thanks in advance!

I think they get everything the over 21 adults get. I also think I read that includes the alcoholic beverages. The drinks will be loaded on their Seapass, but their card will be marked as under 21 so they won't be served alcohol at the bar. An over 21 adult can drink those drinks.

Call the C&A desk.  800-526-9723 and press #9.

Or the 18-20 year old passenger can use them for non alcoholic drinks

They get the same things that the 0-20year old get, not the same as the 21+ get.  They do get the 5 drinks but do not get the free internet, photo, BOGO specialty dinner etc

I've previously heard they don't get the photo and a few other perks when they're under 18 but are you positive about once they turn 18 still not receiving these things? I feel like there's a chance they are full-fledged at that status without being able to order alcohol once they turn 18.

Followed this when it was first posted because I'm curious for the sake of my oldest who is slowly approaching 18.

It doesn't change at 18 for North American sailings.  My daughter was 18 on our last cruise Christmas 2019 and did not get the adult perks

But the benefits have changed since then.

On Brilliance in January our 20 year old D+ daughter got the following perks.

2 Days Free internet

Free Photo

5 Free drinks every day (typically Virgin Pina Colada’s were her go to)

A not so known perk, she got $6 free play in Casino also, had to ask Casino Host to apply the D+ perk

(This is also one a lot of D+ adults probably miss) 😉

Also had a discount in the spa, can’t remember what it was though.

Happy Days!

If you go in the first two days, it may be more than $6.

We were informed that the amount was a direct replacement of the OLD chunky token you used to put in to win a key chain. 🎰

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who got a larger cash amount being D+. (as daughter used hers on Day 1) 😉

Maybe P’s get more than $6

On the 5 sailings I did on both the Mariner and Jewel (Sept and Nov/Dec respectively) when I used the D+ casino offer on day 1 or 2 of the sailing I got $8 vs the $6 if I had waited until later in the cruise.

The benefits paper left in the cabin only showed $6 benefit, but a friend told me about the extra $2 on day 1 and 2. All I did was log into a slot machine and there was $8 in the account.

We also got $6 D+ on Oasis in December

Maybe as advertised the $6 is for being D+ and the extra $2 is for being special 😉 (Master or Signature) , we all now stuff varies from ship to ship

I’ll ask for my extra $2 if owed for me on day 1 when I get on Harmony in a couple of weeks.

To the OP, your 18-20 year old will get free money in the casino, just create a pin on their sea pass card and then change the 4 pin passcode

your default pin is your month/day birth (US format)

All cool

Happy Days!

to add

when you don’t see the $ under PROMO, the casino host will need to add D+ perk onto your account.

As others have said, the extra $2, or whatever, seems to be depend on doing it early in the sailing- it could be linked to C&A status as well.

All of the sailings that my kids did between 18-21 they got the adult perks (this was before vouchers)...most of those left from Europe so they could also drink in the lounge, but even the TA's which left from the USA, they got the regular adult perks except not alcohol in the lounge.  This was not too long ago, kids are now 23 and 25.

Can anyone confirm what under 18 gets as D+.  Do they get 5 non alcoholic drinks?  I thought I saw someone mention they might even be able to order a drink with alcohol if it was for someone else who is an adult.  Say for example, a

daughter using a voucher to get a beer for her Dad?   That of course is just a random example.

Do they get a restaurant bogo?   Laundry bag free?

No such age limit on gun ownership.  😞
