Allure “LIVE” 3/5-3/13 - The allure of the Allure

Recommended Posts

From the time we loaded on the bus, till we had our first sighting was 45 minutes.

We stopped to drop of passengers for Reflection and Apex, then it was our turn.

The line was long, but it seemed to move quickly.

About a half our later and we were onboard.  Only needed masks in the terminal.  Not on the bus or on the ship.

Our first stop was the solarium for lunch, then to check out the solarium

The pool was colder than Oasis last month

Plenty of space in the hot tub, and lots of loungers

Went to check out the DL.  I really like the location on Allure, and I like the location on Indy. Not so much on some of the other ships.

I had to test out making a Carmel latte, using the DL latte machine and some Carmel we brought.

it worked perfectly. Will save me about $150  at Starbucks this week.

A wiseman (I think it was  @bobmacliberty) once said “You can’t be a day drinker if you don’t start in the morning.”  So I had to oblige.

Following my advice isn't often the best course of action, but I'm glad that I can help.

Thanks for deciding to do this thread.  I can easily (and happily) follow both you and twangster.  Have a great cruise!

First drink was an OB special, otherwise known as an expresso martini.  I think I could get use to these.

One thing I like about Allure is the wide open view.

Susan had to find the scale for a baseline weigh in

Second drink was a pain killer. Delicious as always.

Bummer, my Royal up was not accepted.

I can’t tell you how many times I tapped the card on the door lock, before I remembered you had to insert it in the slot.  I felt like Marty McFly.  Back to the future.

Especially when they have these modern phone charging ports in the cabin.

One thing new, and nice, is we are all mask free.

We went to dining room and asked about sharing tables. Evidently there are others doing the same, trying to get back to normal. So we got moved to a table with six other like minded people.  We always enjoy good conversations.

Dinner in MDR tonight was escargot

Prime rib

Without.  I think I had a bartender trainee.  He didn’t know Diamond drinks were all day long.

I thought it looked too dark for a Bailey's. You have to specifically ask for it or the drink comes without.... until the bartender learns your preference.🙂

I forgot to post a Central Park photo earlier.

This looks like a full grown forest, compared to the bonsai trees on Wonder.  I guess those will need to grow.

Dazzles has close seating, with no spaced out tables.

Tony Tillman was in the theatre tonight.

This was about as close to normal as you get.  No empty seats between parties, no masks, and people up and enjoying themselves.

Can we ask details on your Royal up?! Looks like a great cruise so far!

When we booked, all the suites were sold out, and  only once did one open up on their site, and it was only there for a couple hours.  Given that, I didn’t have a lot of hope.  Bid ranges were crazy high for this sailing, compared to the last few.  I was unsuccessful for those also.

Sailing into Nassau turned in to a drive by.  Winds up to 40 knots meant we will not make port today.  Captain just made the announcement.

You didn't miss much.........
