You sure?

You are saying that because of the tear drop side? does the ship always face going the same way when docked? Could they have pulled straight in and not backed in?

I'm over here in Baltimore slumming it on Carnival Legend. I'm four drinks in on my drink package already. I can't wait to see Dale in Nassau.

It seems that the Carnival board is missing a certain live thread.

My internet has been wonky since last night, so expect delays with my posts until it clears.

Pushed thru 16 drinks on day One with the drink package.

It’s a beautiful day at sea. Will post more in a bit.

Early this morning I sent smoke signals to Maureen ship on the Carnival Legend, not sure if she saw it.

Day Two my drink count toward the Deluxe Beverage Package was approximately 17. We did have our slot pull and bar hop so it was a very busy day.

We are slowly making our way to Port Canaveral. We should dock around 3. Time for the ship to reload.

We apparently have a cucumber shortage as I wanted a cucumber drink and couldn’t be made because they didn’t have any cucumbers. 😀

Eating in the Diamond lounge what do I see in here the morning? Cucumbers. Time to bring the ingredients to the bar. 😀

We have lunch today at Izumi, North Star a roll call gathering then around 300ish we will go ashore and meet up at Grills.

Dinner tonight will be at Izumi.

Whilst on shore I’ll send more smoke signals to Maureen’s ship on Carnival Legend in hopes she gets them.

  • 5 weeks later...

Does anyone know why "MrFunintheSun" hasn't continued this review?  We were following because we plan to be on this ship later in the year and we were curious how things went but the author seems to have stopped on March 29th.

Uneventful cruise other than the delay in disembarking at Coco Cay due to members of the entertainment staff having tested positive the prior week - leading to about an extra 90 minutes before passengers were allowed to get off.  Coco Cay is usually staffed by crew members from the ships that are docked, but the local government refused to allow Anthem crew to disembark so the Independence had to make up the difference.  People had lined up early, leading to huge waits along the Royal Promenade with very little information given to them.  Some probably waited over two hours.

Entertainment was scaled back, no big shows.  Mainly comedians and a Led Zeppelin tribute band.

The first and last sea day saw weather too cold to spend time on deck, not unexpected.  We had a rainy day on day 6 (first day after Nassau) which was unfortunate.

Cruise director Joff was pleasant, but only visible on the tv and during larger evening events.

A lot of people had visible cold symptoms on Saturday (next to last day) including me and my wife.  I tested negative when I got home on both Sunday and Tuesday before testing positive on Thursday.  Draw you own conclusion.
