Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports Rich and Roy for the various lists.

Interesting days and quote.

I think we should all respect our pets either cats or dogs.

There were several Hot tubs on the ship we have just been on but we don't get in them these days.

I will give today's food and drink a miss.

We went to Hamburg on a cruise in 2004 and did a tour of the city.

Graham.

Yes I agree as all cats and dogs are innocent and just want to be feed and loved.

I also do not do hot tubs any more as I feel like it is just bath water.  I might try first thing in the morning, but I hate to see folks with a glass drink in their hands or with lots of suntan lotion as well.

this is why I try to do the pools in the am as well.

Never been to Hamburg but I love Hamburgers  - ha ha.

toodles

Anyone want to see a few photos of Hamburg?

Hamburg was a nice place to visit in 2017, too.  We did some scenic cruising along the Elbe River as we approached Hamburg.  Somehow they even found the werewithal to make a beach on the river.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKeAiGxuyYkJxAnAUdu5KMr?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1497891285

This SUV atop two shipping containers caught my eye.  How did it get up there?  Crane?00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIRFc5jB8vgBW8Ot5b_tKvf?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1497891305

The Louisiana Star would appear to be a long way from home.  I'm guessing it's not really from the Bayou.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJ06sNirhxE5a626FUreBNs?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1497891343

We were docked there overnight so on Monday we went for a walk around town and stopped at a botanical garden in Hamburg.

I noticed a fancy doorway on a church (for my door people).00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJiz_d97thDeyPpKv-AYSMs?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1497891493

The botanical garden was quite large but the flowering plants were fairly ordinary.  I've seen some great botanical parks in my travels so this one wouldn't compare.  However, it was nice to find a calming spot to stroll.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVK34n3ZhjUruwRCb2Pv5Orm?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1497891578

As we expected, the Captain just announced that the conditions have not improved and we'll not be tendering.  We will just be sitting off shore today.

I took a some pictures just before his announcement while it was raining hard.

Our view during the heavy fog and rain.  You can make out the swells.

After it cleared a bit, this was the view of Avalon.

There is a small craft advisory in effect for this area until 3pm Wednesday.  This is what we saw about 20 minutes ago.  I guess you can't fix stupid.

About 5 minutes ago, another sailboat pulling a dingy while under power passed close to the ship.

Now that the Captain canceled the stop, the fog has lifted and we can see patches of blue sky.  The swells are still pretty big though

What a difference an hour or so makes.  The rain quit and we had sunny skies.  The Captain made the decision to start tendering and delayed our departure.

Since these pictures were taken, the clouds are moving back in, and we still have big swells.  After watching one tender wallow and roll some coming back to the ship, I decided to stay on board.

Earlier, we had a visitor waiting for the rain to quit.

Hello Again, DH did not get results from the hospital test by the time he got home.  I made him use the monitored test and after 20 minutes he got a negative result.  I was able to get Verifly updated and it says we are ready to sail.  Flying out tomorrow to catch the Eurodam on Wednesday.

A quick hello everyone, it’s been one of those days. I don’t have much to add on the days today, don’t really like hot tubs much.  I’d try the meal suggestion but skip the eggplant yogurt part of it as I don’t like eggplant.  Have not been to today’s port and am enjoying the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our list.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today. Dang it’s cold here!

Thanks to Rich @richwmnfor the Daily and to Roy, @rafinmdfor the Care and Celebration lists.  Enjoyed seeing the photos, thank you.

Will pass on the meal, but the alternative menu posted by Roy appeals.

Always respect cats.

@smitty34877 hope that Tana gets a good report from the pulmonologist today.

@Crazy For CatsBon Voyage, have a super cruise.

@StLouisCruisers hope all goes well with your opthalmology appointment, in the past I have experienced those zigzag flashing lights.

@DeeniEncinitas sorry that you lost your phone,  sad that there were so many cases of covid on the  Ruby.

@aliaschief hope that you and Sue are feeling better today, and that your meals arrive promptly.Very good of the concierges to gift you wine.

Stay safe, take care everyone.

Thanks, Jacqui, for the reminder that we should all get our stuff sorted, weeded, and purged while we are able. My DW mentioned to me just yesterday that we should go over how to access all of our assets in case something happened to one of us. Of course, if something happened to both of us at the same time we would need to make that information available to our dear daughter.

I know I don't want to leave a mess for anyone else to have to deal with, but my follow-through on getting things in order is lacking.

Good insight @HAL4NOW. Since DH and I travel together so much we have put together notebooks- one for each of us, one on home improvements for when the house needs to be sold, and one with “need to know info right away”. We’ve included copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, wills etc,  insurance policies, credit card details, who to contact, info for an obituary, etc.  We travel easier knowing we’ve made it as easy as we could for whomever has to pick up the pieces.
