Rare Scrapnana Posted April 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2022 Our first HAL ship of the Alaska season arrives in Juneau on Friday, 29 April. Zuiderdam is scheduled to be at the Franklin Street dock from 1 pm to 10 pm (remember this is Alaska Daylight time [UTC - 8]). For anyone new to our watch party, the ships often show up on the webcams anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes before the scheduled time. Zuiderdam is the only cruise ship in port. The PTZtv webcam can be found at https://www.juneauharborwebcam.com/. There are other webcams in Juneau which can be found at http://TheSnowCloud Juneau area Webcams The weather forecast is for clouds in the afternoon and a high of 51F/10C and a low of 39F/4C with a 24% chance of rain. Sunrise is at 5:08 am and sunset at 8:43 pm. Next up: Eurodam and Koningsdam on Monday, 2 May.
Sarnia 432 Posted April 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2022 Beautiful sight, the Zuiderdam can be seen sailing the inside passage, from Vancouver to Alaska. This is the first cruise ship we have seen here since the end of the 2019 Alaska season. Welcome back.

Happily@Sea Posted April 28, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) Thanks, Kathi. Good to see the Juneau season start. May we be blessed with more sunny than rainy days and a non-panning camera. I can dream, can't I? Edited April 28, 2022 by Happily@Sea
rkacruiser Posted April 28, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2022 (edited) Thanks for the information. I'll be watching during the time Zuiderdam is in port. Maybe I am odd, but, I enjoy watching and hearing the floatplanes taking off and landing that we see on the Juneau web cam. Missed that during the 2021 cruise season. Rare Crew News Posted April 29, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2022 FWIW Zuiderdam has been delayed leaving Vancouver and thus will be docking around 3:00 PM but still leaving at 10:00 PM. All excursions delayed at least two hours.
NCTribeFan Posted April 29, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2022 That reminds me that I need to check the port schedules for my B2B sailings beginning on 6/1. One of the reasons I picked Zuiderdam was because of the mid-week sailings, hoping to avoid being in port with multiple large ships.
Happily@Sea Posted April 29, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2022 Marine map shows no update for 1 1/2 hours. 3 1/2 hours away might be just right. I will keep my eye on the map..

Juneau time, that will be 7:00 P. M. EDT.

Happily@Sea Posted April 29, 2022 #25 Share Posted April 29, 2022 I'm not used to the length of time it takes to dock at Franklin St. Success and have a good visit for the pax. Tonight is too late. See you all Monday for the double BHB visit. Thanks, Kathi and cam operator - and my fellow addicts.
