Hi fellow cruisers

we r on Arcadia next week, the first of our many re-arranged cruises since 2019.

Do we still have the liquid soap and hair shampoo in the showers?
anything else we should be aware of?
we will be taking masks.

Yes soap & shampoo, you will need your masks for sure!!

Only one UK plug in cabin, so take adaptors or multi gang extensions.

Covid going to be even worse with new "self testing"! Good job I like green beans!

One way or another we are going to have to learn to live with Covid, maybe green beans are an antidote that P and O have kept secret 😆

Just got back from the Baltic on Aurora last Sunday.

One day was 37 degrees (the freak heat also experienced in GB), but most days were around 20 degrees - really perfect for touring. Might be a degree or two warmer for you.

Virtually dry every day - maybe lucky there. So the weather was very GB-like.

This is a good site to see forecasts:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2618425

You can set up all of your ports for daily forecasts for the next 2 weeksand check them every day as your cruise date approaches.

Just waiting to board. Apparently only about 1100 on Arcadia today.

At one point, I was booked on this cruise, so I’ll be interested to hear about it.

Hope you have a good time  - with only 1100 pax, you should have some space!

Whilst a low number of passengers can be a good thing,  we found that with similar numbers back in March,  the ship lacked any sort of atmosphere at night. Just not enough people around to create a buzz.

However, regardless,  I am sure you will have a great cruise.

Definitely agree about the downside of low pax as the more there are the better the atmosphere, encountered both sides of the coin and although getting into venues, sunbeds and dining were easier with less, the ship felt dead after 10 pm which we didn't enjoy. Hoping you have a great cruise👍

Maybe only certain itineraries sailing with low numbers. My forthcoming Med cruise on Aurora is sold out...

That doesn’t follow.  A waiter told me that 70% capacity means sold out because certain Med ports have restrictions on numbers, plus cabins set aside for COVID isolation.  True or false I don’t know!

Have a great cruise. If you can post a few comments along the way it will help myself and OH to live vicariously, as your itinerary is almost exactly the same as the one we had cancelled on Arcadia at 3 weeks notice. That one was due to sail on 1st May but P&O decided that some of the larger family ships took priority and re-deployed staff/crew from Arcadia to make up a shortfall in staffing overall.

We are now booked on J216 which sails on 30th August so I am keen to know how things are and if they have improved compared to some indications form pax on the earlier start-up cruises

We did the first TA in October last year, if I remember it was 50 percent capacity, strangely they a was around the pool, left the rest of the decks to us 👍

Appears that Sindhu is open on this cruise.

Great news - hopefully we can get confirmation from @Fionboard. Would be a big step forward to have at least one specialty restaurant open on our J216 cruise on 30th August. We have a chunk of OBC to use up ( due to our 1st May cancelled cruise) over a 7 night itinerary and I can't think of a better way to spend that than having a few visits to Sindhu
