Second leg of B2B - Do I need to check-in?

I checked in for our 11/20 Reflection sailing last week, and then received the docs via email. Now, I received an email to check-in for our second leg (11/27). However, I also received the docs for that sailing. I don't think I received the docs last time until after I checked-in, but I could be totally wrong on that count.

Do I need to go through the process again for this (second) sailing?

... and, can anyone tell me what the typical process is between cruises, as far as what time we'll need to be where, etc?

THANKS,

Tom

You don't really need to do online checkin for the second sailing but it does make things go slightly smoother if you do.   If you supply photos and your credit card information then they will have that for the second sailing.  They don't carry anything over from the first sailing to the second so if you don't do it then you need to get photo's taken when getting onboard the second sailing and you will have to go to guest relations to register your credit card.

As far as the B2B procedure.  They give you a letter onboard describing the details but basically if you are staying onboard you meet somewhere around 9 am then when everyone's off the ship they walk you out through immigration and back on the ship.  Generally takes around an hour mostly waiting time.

That's great info...thanks.  We are planning to get off the ship when our friends depart at the end of our first cruise, spend some time in Ft. Lauderdale and then return to the ship.  Will we need to select a time to get back on the ship like we did for the first sailing?

If you are getting off the ship it's a bit different.  You can leave any time during disembarkation process.  You will be given a "transit pass" to use to get back on the ship for the second sailing.  You bypass the checkin process in the terminal but you can't get back onboard until they start the general boarding.

Perfect...we don't plan to get back onboard until later anyway.

This is why I love Cruise Critic...everyone is so helpful!

Thanks.

Just be SURE you take the requested transit passes (or Celebrity Express passes for the cruise itself) with you or you'll have a major hassle at pier security.  The transit passes let you zip directly through.  The Express Passes will confuse things at check-in.

Anyone know when it will be known (or how to find out) what terminal the Reflection will be using in Pt Everglades this coming season - since we're about 3 weeks out now.

In February I can't recall the terminal number, but it was one where there was no parking, and you had to take a shuttle to/from a parking garage near other terminals. It was a Saturday-Saturday schedule then, now it's Sunday-Sunday. I REALLY hope that they'll be at a different terminal this time so that we can skip the "fun" shuttle process !

I tried digging around, but could not find anything. Though there was a recommendation for the following app: CruiseSchedule Port Everglades -- though that's not for Android users (me!), so I can't utilize it !  Any i-people out there want to load that up and take a look (11/20 Reflection)?

You really don't need to do Checkin for the second cruise but I usually do as it speeds up the B2B process by about 15 seconds.  It also came in hand once when we did a B2B Celebrity tour and forgot our transit pass.  We just used the Express Pass to get past the front door.

As others said you will get an invitation to the B2B meeting along with instructions and transit pass.    If the same room you don't have to do anything with room.  If a different room you will need to pack up things in drawers and the Room Attendant will move hanging items and suitecases to new room.

You can either go ashore anytime prior to final call and tour on your own.  You will use your Transit Pass and be processed with new card at the terminal at the B2B desk.   You will not be able to re-board the ship until general boarding begins around 11:00

On B2B day you will be instructed to meet other B2B's in a Lounge like the Sky Lounge at 8:30-9:00.   Once they zero out the ship they will either process B2B's either on the ship if immigration is on the ship or will take you ashore if immigration is in the terminal.  You will clear immigration and then be issued your new SeaPass.   Once all the B2B's are processed (about 20-30 minutes) you will be escorted aboard and have free access of the ship until general boarding begins around 11.

Thank you.  I presume the transit card that has been mentioned will get me back into Port Everglades, correct?

I've never needed anything to get into the port except maybe an ID that we flashed.   The transit pass allows you to get through the front door of the terminal and then when you show it they will direct you to a special desk for in-transit.

Port Everglads is pretty easy from my experience but some non-Florida ports have been a challenge.    No one knew what an in-transit pass was and kept trying to send us through the regular checkin.

Thanks Jim.  I remember the uber/shuttle driver usually needing to show some sort of documentation verifying we are entering the port area for a cruise...safety first, right?

I think the driver has to show some type of paper identifying him as a Ride Share driver and If I recall we had to flash our Passport from the back seat

We are B2B Reflection as well and we were told that we must clean everything off of our counters as they must sanitize all surfaces between cruises even though we are staying on

Wasn't the case for our B2B, and if not moving cabins, really makes no sense.

I've been on 5  consecutive cruises since ships first started sailing again and never been asked or even been suggested in writing to move anything off our counters.    We would of course do whatever was requested.  Many of our stateroom attendants will will even arrange things on our bedside tables even loose coins in a decorative way.   We don't have a lot on counters but do have our Bathroom shaving kits, toothbrushes etc we leave in place and in our rooms mostly just all of my electronics, chargers and connectors.

I'm wondering why Reflection have different protocols than Equinox, Silhouette, Millennium and Summit.

Interesting -- we were B2B on the Solstice in June with both legs in the same Suite.  We were not asked to remove items from the stateroom counters.
