Tropical Disturbance off Florida Coast

We are fine with the 1 day cruise charge returned to us. I would imagine there are lots on here that the 2 ports were the highlight of their cruise. But Royal had no choice but to cancel them as it would have made our trip North beginning Tuesday night very rough.

The seas are still rough and it’s very windy on the outside decks. So I imagine lots are spending that extra money back in the casino and shops!

🤣

We should be back in Baltimore Friday morning in time to meet Nicole head on going South home.

Curious where you heard about one day refund on Independence.
We are on sailing too and haven’t heard that.

Letters left in mailbox outside cabin door. Ask your room steward for it or go to front desk.

1 DAY!!!? That's it? I guess it's just a 4 day cruise, and maybe you just had 1 port day anyway, is that why they're just giving back 1 day? I would hope to also get some incentive to rebook another cruise in the future; 1 day refund plus 50% off a future cruise.

There are insurance policies that give you money if your cruise misses a port or changes itineraries, but I'm not sure if you can make a claim if the cruiseline has given you something for the trouble already.

4 night cruise with 2 stops was original itinerary. Only issue I have is there were 6 ships impacted and ours was the only one who did not get a port replaced. Captain said none were available …not so sure about that….Cozumel usually takes all comers and allows tenders when pier slots are filled. I think because the ship is not at capacity, burning all the fuel to Cozumel would just be more of a revenue loss. So much for the theory you have to visit a foreign port. Obviously there is an exemption available.

Nice that they were able to change that second day to Puerto Plata. There's only so much to do at Labadee.

My daughter is on this cruise time in port for puerto plata is 7:30-12:30 so not much time.

Does not seem as rolly-polly (is that a word?)....now as it was.  Felt like we were walking uphill in the hallways...and then downhill again immediately.  😮  Either that, or we are getting our sea legs now.   At least the sun is out this morning...quite nice right now out on the balcony.

Nicole now predicted to turn into a hurricane as it slides up Florida.  Ughh...I did not do any hurricane prep before we left.  😳

Mr. Sleepy head just getting up.  I bring him a mug of coffee each morning.  Love the nice new machine in the SL.  🙂

Pat -- hope your house is safe.

Thanks for update.  Worried about my sister.  I followed on cruise mapper site and no ships around Bahamas.  Saw still rough seas for you though.

Our family of 6 adults is on Independence of the Seas which leaves Friday, 11/11 from Port Canaveral.  Considering Hurricane Nicole is going to prob cause issues in the middle of FL as well as the coast - I am not sure my family can fly into Orlando on 11/10.   Anyone have prior experience with something like this?

Keep an eye on Port Canaveral.  I saw this on their FB page.image.thumb.png.4733b4feeaf206cc1e0234dbb54c2c5d.png

Currently on Mariner, Cococay was canceled for yesterday, no replacement port. We are just slowly cruising down to Coz.

Bright side, crew, food, medical (cut toe), have all been excellent.
Have a stay at Disney’s Vero Beach starting Saturday. Hopefully all will be ok there!
