Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the CC HH in the Sky Lounge with snacks is no longer. The Sky Lounge is no longer reserved from 5 to 7 PM for the CC HH.  Pick your own bar from 5 to 7 and enjoy your beverage of choice. Stop by the OVC and grab a snack if you want one with your drinks. 😉

Better to hang out at SunSet Bar 😁🧀

You would have had the place most times in the evening and sometimes all day to yourself on our September NE/Canada cruise. I'm from a cold weather state (cold, windy and rain/snow mix today) but that has nothing to do with wanting to sit out in the cold or wind to enjoy a drink. At least not us. But whatever you like is all that matters.

I would never do one of those cruises

The weather is usually pretty shitty that time of the year

I do stand corrected that it's MOST bars, usually it excludes the world bar and craft social

For our recent Constellation cruise (and I presume for all M class ships), the Elite Happy Hour exclusion was Martini Bar, and Cafe al Bacio. Embarkation Day was also excluded which I believe is fleet wide.

There are enough post about HH , that it appears a lot of people are booking sail only option

I usually book sail only option if its a great deal. Sometimes not worth the AI as being Elite get the HH drinks and last cruise was in concierge and was invited to plenty of events with free drinks.  Also on a port intensive itinerary I'm off the ship most of the day.

We also had a comp blue chip cruise and no drink package a few months ago.  We always got the premium package and wondered if it was worth it.  It was our chance to try it out.  We are elite so we had the 5-7 HH and also played in casino where drinks were comped.  I understand the quality there  is not there but for the few we had it was fine.  So we also ordered a bottle of Sake and a few glasses of wine at dinner(sometimes we carried our drinks from the casino to dinner)  and drinks during our 7 day cruise and it came to less than $350.  We did seem to drink less.

It was kind of fun to see how it worked out.  We are again on a cruise-only fare next month and will certainly go without a drink package.  In May we have a drink package so imagine we will have a few more drinks during day.

Being Elite, playing in the casino and not over drinking and being older makes no drink package work for us.

Let us know how it works out for you.

We were just trying to figure out all of the different strategies of getting cocktails during the day. I did forget about the casino getting comp drinks. We will also bring the  maximum of four bottles on board with us.

We are doing a comped cruise both March and April of next year. The first one we’re going to get the premium package because we are going with friends the second one we’re going to see how we do without a package for the first time!! We are curious how inexpensive we can get the cruise and having just turned elite plus we’re going to take full advantage of all of the perks!!

"a lot of people are booking sail only option"---- That's us.

Why you ask ??

We are non-drinkers, don't require more than the 90 minutes of free wifi ( Elite perk ), and the gratuities are added on to our account daily.

We do enjoy the HH appetizers in the Sky Lounge ( another Elite perk ) with a diet coke or non-alcoholic beverage and meeting some fellow passengers.

( We all know the " routine " questions-- it's all good ).

We are 100% with you. When X made the drinks/WiFi package compolsary we stopped booking. Now it's optional we are booking again. As Elite plus we get all the above plus 240 minutes WiFi each and all our non alcoholic specialist teas/coffees/chocolate.

Choose the option that suits you best - there is no right or wrong answer.

We just got back back from our first cruise since 8/19 and it was on Voyager of the Seas. We are diamond on RC and elite on X. We had 3 X cruises booked in 2020 that were canceled. I missed not having laundry perks on RC but it was only 7 days, we like longer cruises. The 4 drinks a day for us is wonderful for us as we are not big drinkers, but it is good in the dining room and anytime in any bar. Only the Starbucks coffee was not included. Some days DH got a soda or water if it was getting closer to midnight as they did not carry over. It works for us and if we can cruise more because of the cheaper price we will. To each their own.

We have done three of the late September / early October New England cruises and loved them all.  We did enjoy excellent weather the whole time on all three.  The scenery is amazing with the changing of the season and all the reds, oranges, yellows, and greens on display.

We did 21 days on the Voyager, the Arctic TA , that ship need a major renovation

Hope they got more staff and supplies once it reached the USA

Best thing about that cruise was meeting up with friends , the  ports and 4 drinks per day 😁
