gunnywife Posted November 29, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2022 Please give me suggestions on no surge power strips allowed on Princess. On looking on Amazon I see some were rejected by various cruise lines. I just want to get the right one.
Rare Shelly97060 Posted November 29, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2022 (edited) Not a power strip per sey but we like this one for when we cruise: it has replaced our power strip. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XJQZ8LR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Edited November 29, 2022 by Shelly97060

KLM3164 Posted November 30, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2022 We take either one of these when we cruise and we’ve never had a problem with them being confiscated. https://www.amazon.com/Cruise-Power-Strip-USB-Outlets/dp/B07BHVKPC3/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1Z42NX98VSH38&keywords=cruise%2Bship%2Bpower%2Bstrip&qid=1669768548&sprefix=Cruise%2Bship%2Bp%2Caps%2C195&sr=8-3&th=1 OR https://www.amazon.com/Desktop-Outlet-Braided-Extension-Office/dp/B07HCVFH82/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1Z42NX98VSH38&keywords=cruise+ship+power+strip&qid=1669768548&sprefix=Cruise+ship+p%2Caps%2C195&sr=8-
Lizabu Posted November 30, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2022 If you’re on Amazon, search cruise power bar or cruise power strip. There’s a bunch of different kinds
Arizona Wildcat Posted November 30, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Wondering with three or 4 outlets why one needs to plug in do many devices at the same time? DW and I are good with our iron, kettle and instant pot. The phones can wait till evening.

On older ships; there’s exactly ONE outlet in the cabin..on the Royal Class there’s still only one; but at least there’s USB ports by the bed (one on either nightstand) to charge phones. And..they let you take an instant pot onboard!? Are you cooking food in your cabin?

No problem with it getting on board we just left it in the box that says cruise ship approved and put it in our carryon. Which ship are you going on? On the Discovery there are only 2 regular out let’s and 1 USB port on each bedside table and we are in a mini suite.

P&T Posted November 30, 2022 #13 Share Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Cruise lines don't like anything with a surge protector, so a simple cheap double/triple powerboard without surge protection is usually fine. For myself, most of the time, I'm looking to charge multiple things that use USB (watch, phones, headphones, ipad et al) and not looking for multiple regular plug/sockets. The shaver can normally be charged in the bathroom. Also I want something I can use on shore not locking me down to one socket type when visiting countries not on a cruise, so the following does me a treat. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265749465972 Edited November 30, 2022 by P&T spelling

latebloomer56 Posted November 30, 2022 #16 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Thanks for this post. We didn't need any power strip on Sapphire plenty of plugs for everything. Now we are going on Enchanted next summer and am reading very few plugs? I have Inogen machine and hubby has c-pap so guess we will be getting a power strip. WaterfordBee Posted November 30, 2022 #17 Share Posted November 30, 2022 we use this one from Amazon and leave the box underneath the device when in use, just in case. The box clearly states "NO SURGE" "Travel Power Strip for Cruise Ship/Hotel" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0727WZM6R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
RNRcruisers Posted November 30, 2022 #18 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Does Caribbean Princess have the usb ports by the bed? That is about all we would need.

rjack22 Posted November 30, 2022 #22 Share Posted November 30, 2022 I don't believe the Caribbean Princess has the USB in the lamps or anywhere else as it is a older ship.
