Depends.   What do you like to do and where would you like to visit?   Are you traveling with others?  If not, when do you turn 21?

Age and M/F are not enough to recommend anything.

A Good TA will ask the correct questions to qualify you to cruise choices that meet your likes.

Take a look at Virgin Voyages. They target a younger demographic.  Their onboard experience is quite different from other cruise lines.  Check out their board here on Cruise Critic  https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/826-virgin-voyages/

That's why I mentioned age earlier.   20 (solo) is a no-go for some cruise lines.

Larger ships does not equal better.  I guess Royal's leadership didn't get that memo.

 

I've sailed on Royal when my entire family is going (one of my siblings booked it, I was invited to tag along), I've liked NCL much better.  I need something other than "bigger ships" to get me back on that line.

I wouldn't recommend the others.

Another question is how important alcohol is to you. On some cruises (mainly Europe) you’ll be allowed to order drinks. In others (mainly North Anerican

n) you won’t.

I don't know of any of the major US based cruise lines that allow a 20 year old to sail by themselves. So, that's the first thing to look in to.

I tend to agree and do not personally look for the mega ships.  However, the OP is asking about what might appeal to a 20 year old.  If I were 20 again, I might like the more vibrant & active atmosphere of the larger RC ships.
