I may have missed it... The shares can be held in a retirement account. (IRA, ROTH IRA, 403b, 401k...)

That's how mine are held - in my IRA.  I actually cut my loses when they went down about 3 years ago.  The OBC and dividends did cut down on my loses. I just recently repurchased and actually am making a profit.

And it’s at a very attractive price now at about $10.47 a share but unfortunately many of us bought it at much higher and the loss is much greater than the $100 credit.  But we hang on to it in the hope it rebounds.  What I’m trying to say is that it’s a stock and does come with risk to get the $100 credit

Good luck

I had bought when it was in the mid 20s. When it got down to the $8 range, I bought a few hundred more. If the stock gets back to around $12.50, I’ll sell all but 100 and using average pricing, I should break even on the sell order, plus I’ll still have the other 100 shares for OBC eligibility with a basis of around $800. Of course, the share price has to get up there at some point. That is the risk one takes.

When we bought our 100 shares in October 2022 (at $7.10 a share), we were able to apply it immediately to booked cruises in April 2023 ($250 OBC), July 2023 ($10OBC), and - most surprisingly - April 2024 ($250 OBC).  I was surprised that they processed the latter and suppose I should keep an eye on it in July 2023 to see if it continues to show up.

$600 OBC in 18 months for $710 investment - nice!  It took us 6 years to break even!

I'm surprised at the April 2024 OBC being processed too - I assume you haven't yet paid the final balance? I understood that OBC would not be added until final payment was made.

I'm sure the benefit will continue to be extended in any case.

For all three cruises, we had not yet paid the final balance.

Do I send one fax for 2 or more cruises or each separately? Both in 2023.

TY

I just sent a single email entitled Proof of Stock Ownership for # Cruises to

  sbpcl@princesscruises.com

In the body I noted:

Passengers:  Names

FIRST CRUISE
Booking Number:  XXXXXX
Ship:  XX Princess
Sail Date:  Month/Day/Year
Proof of Ownership:  attached a screen print of my brokerage account, blanking out the account number

SUBSEQUENT CRUISES:  provide the same information

Hope this helps!

Does princess have an onboard credit for owning CCL stock? How do I apply for this credit.

Why ask here when it is quite easy to find that information at the Carnival Corporation web site?

Hello,

I have two cruises this year and sent both in one fax.  Only one of the cruises was credited.  I recommend sending one, then waiting and sending the second one a bit later.  Mine were posted to my account within the same day or the next.  They are very quick.

Enjoy

Christie

Note that they do restrict the OBC to one person per cabin, so even if both of you own 100 shares, only one can get the credit.

What?  Wish I had read the details. It explains why  only one of us has the obc after we both submitted respective shareholder information. I told my husband  he had to buy the stock. He will be one unhappy camper …

I bought at $8.20 a share.  Funded my account with $1000 and got $100 bonus after 90 days.  Then when it fell to $6.XX I utilized the rest of the funding and bought another 30 shares.

So far I've gotten $100, $50, $100, $250 on princess.  I never get the credit on carnival, but I only book casino rates for those cruises.  We're definitely princess people, carnival is too walmarty for us, LOL!

Why do people say it is easy to find but don't post a link.

And also question why people ask here. Just about everything that is asked here, the answers are found on the Net somewhere. Using that rationale, they might as well close these threads down.

It is not that easy to find.

It is really easy to find.

If a person is buying shares in a company one would think the person would know how to find the company web site and the share holder information and various financial reports.

In addition the question has been asked and answered many times over in Cruise Critic. Cruise Critic is not a finance site.

Agree to disagree.  I have posted questions in Cruise Critic myself after searching the net for something I thought would be easy to find only to fail in that search.

So I agree it’s sometimes not easy to find.

If these types of questions aren’t what Cruise Critic is all about, then what exactly should be posted ?

Isn’t that what Cruise Critic is all about

The other reason to ask questions that might have an answer elsewhere is that when people start answering, they drop other helpful hints that the OP might not have even thought to ask. I just learned quite a bit on this thread, even though I already technically knew the answer to the original question.
