Just off the Legend out of Baltimore and never saw one fight and only smelled pot once. Getting onboard was super easy, getting off the boat was just as easy. We got to watch the drug dogs sniffing everyones carry on luggage, those dogs were so cute! We had a great time, the comedians were fantastic, there was always something to do, we were never bored. The only thing that wasn't what we'd have liked was the quality of the food... that and there's not much open after 11pm. The ice cream ran out a few times late at night. The steakhouse was really good, the seafood shack was one of our favorites!! In the casino the smell of smoke wasn't too bad on the non smoking side. All in all, it was a pretty nice cruise.... and really loved the Legend decor, love all that glamor!

Thanks for the post. We are taking the Legend out of Baltimore in July with our young kids for the first time, so happy to hear the nice review.  What time was your check-in time and what time did you get to port? I've heard parking there is great, but lines can get super long.  Any other general comments on this ship itself? We've only sailed once on the Conquest in 2017.

32 Carnival cruises and I've never witnessed a fight and have only very recently smelled pot. (I think because so many states have made it legal, people don't want to follow federal laws and Carnival's rules).

We really did have a great time... This is our 7th cruise I think... the third with carnival. Our check in times were 12-12;30, we were in a suite (our first time) and walked right in. The parking situation, it looked like it ran pretty smoothly, we stayed the night and did the park and cruise (stayed at StrayBridge hotel right near the inner harbor).... where they park your car someplace until you get back. The ship was beautiful.... it has a kids club which most of the kids love. If your kids want candy (it's me who's the candy addict) they have a candy store that is pretty $$$$! Next time I'm smuggling it on! Ice cream machines work untill about 11pm. Pizza Pirate stays open really late and is pretty tasty probably b/c that's the only food available late nights. The ship was in my opinion was beautiful! The balconies looked old but the Head hotel guy said that this ship would go into drydock next yr and get all new balconies. I hope this answers some of your questions.. but if you have more, there's so many on here that can answer them too!

I've never seen a fight either!

We were prompted to sail on the Legend from Baltimore as it is only a 3-1/2 hour drive from home.  Being 4* on HAL we were a bit skeptical how we would like the Legend but actually enjoyed it. The fact that it was only a 3-1/2 hour drive was a big plus! The Carnival Spirit-class are very similar in layout to HAL's Vista-class and Signature-class compared to other Carnival ships. Other than the dated decor (silver vases and turquoise accents) we found most everything to be positive about the cruise.

Other than our hall being noisy two nights with the younger crowd pushing and shoving returning to their staterooms, it was fine. The food was very good in the Deck 3 Truffles MDR, the Unicorn Cafe  buffet was busy but we were able to enjoy it, Guy's and  Blue Iguana were tasty, and found the Alchemy Bar to be our favorite. I did appreciate the Carnival app for reserving a table for breakfast and dinner in Truffles. It worked very well.

Embarkation and disembarkation were without any problem. We stayed at a hotel nearby using their "Park and Cruise" program as we make a point of traveling the day before embarking in case there was snow. Activities during the cruise were enough to keep us busy. A good cruise and worth it to break the doldrums of winter. Next time though we will go during a bit warmer time of year.

Just off the legend also. Was a great cruise no fights and no pot smells. However on our last two cruises the mattresses in our room were so bad that when you sat on the bed you went all the way to the bottom. The towels were so thin you could see through them should have been used as cleaning rags.I know carnival is cutting corners but this was really bad.

No doubt someone will find fault with a positive review. Shouldn't take long.

No need to “smuggle” candy.  You are welcome to bring as much as you like, provided it is in its original sealed packaging.

Thats great they were boarding by 12:30, most times out of baltimore it seems boarding is usually 1 or later, at least on the 6 cruises I have taken.

We are going to be going on Legend out of Baltimore in a few weeks, we have never cruised out of Baltimore and I just recently heard someone mention that the ship usually gets into port a little later/boards a little later than other ports. What is usually the earliest available "check in" time? Also what time are you usually off the ship by? Thanks.

We've cruised out of Baltimore twice.  Both times boarding began between 12 and 12:30.

Earliest check in time was 11:00.  This was 2018.

Was that for a 5:00 PM departure time?

And what time could you go to your cabin?

(I have a cruise on Legend out of Baltimore in a few months and will probably go for a late arrival time so that I can go straight to the cabin).

Pretty sure departure was 5pm.

We had FTTF that cruise, so we dropped our carry ons in our cabin as soon as we boarded. I'm not sure when they were open to all.

Wait, was "the drug sniffing dogs were cute" lifted out of Anne Frank's diary or was it a joke? I swear I've heard that line before...

They were cute!! One was a beagle.... and then we saw a shepherd later. I have owned both, but the GSD owns us, she just allows us to live in her world. 😁

How late was the Lido pool open? I know Legend doesn't have the "dive in movies" because they don't have the big screen, but I'm wondering if the pool is kept open late (my kids love night swimming after late dinner). Sailing in August.
