Rare Rubyfisch Posted October 22, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 22, 2023 This was fantastic - it was a warm chocolate cake with a caramelized banana and a scoop of coffee ice cream. It was on the first formal night (night 2 of 7 for us).
sandiego1 Posted October 22, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2023 On the World Cruise this year, I kept a note on my phone listing the desserts I liked and which ones I didn’t. I didn’t want to waste calories (or food) ordering something I didn’t enjoy. I love chocolate. That coffee ice cream, chocolate cake and banana would have been a 5* desert for me if they had served it on the WC. I didn’t bother listing any of the non-chocolate desserts 🙂 However, I did enjoy the various berry crisps. None of my friends like the banana or pineapple crisps. Unfortunately, those were served more often than the berry or apple crisps. Here’s my list: Favorites; Chocolate delight (round chocolate on cracker, like fudge) Chocolate cake with carmelized popcorn Chocolate soufflé Flourless chocolate cake Double chocolate tart Chocolate raspberry tart Maybe: Chocolate brownie stack Chocolate Paris Brest (good choc mousse, bad crust) No: Chocolate croqant praline Opera cake with coffee buttercream Chocolate caramel tart Sachet torte Linzer torte 2

Rare Mary229 Posted October 22, 2023 #16 Share Posted October 22, 2023 I am a simple woman - crème brûlée, Pavlova and hot fudge Sunday (a recent discovery for me). In the lido - bread pudding. In Pinnacle - key lime pie. In Canaletto - the gelato trio.
Rare Rubyfisch Posted October 22, 2023 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2023 I had forgotten about the peanut butter pie - it's amazing. And no where near as heavy as it sounds. On my next cruise, I might steal a piece and stash it my fridge for a midnight snack. Here's a not great photo of it: 5

There is always one fruit crisp available every evening even if it is not on the menu; it just varies which kind of fruit. They are delicious. 1
AKJonesy Posted October 22, 2023 #20 Share Posted October 22, 2023 (edited) IMHO, HAL does amazing bread, and I wish it was the same for desserts. I do want to quality my response by saying that I'm not one of those Americans that requires a ton of sugar in the desserts because I don't like that. I recently had what they called "cheesecake", but I don't know what that was...kind of a cross between cheesecake and custard more like. I know people rave about the bread pudding, and honestly I don't get it. Their tiramisu and creme brulee is very decent. But, if you are a dessert snob like me (beer snob also), then go with the Gelato in the Canaletto or at the Gelato station near the pool (depending on what ship you are on) or the Tiramisu. Stateroom_Sailor Posted October 22, 2023 #23 Share Posted October 22, 2023 Anything chocolate. I had excellent banana ice cream in the buffet a few years back. Of course my celebrity chef meal in May ($90) was a wonderful display:
