I think that is an old evening menu. Or else it’s a very old day menu. Was on QV and QM2 end of last year and that definitely was not the offerings. I eat there most days unless it’s Lasagne in Britannia 🚢😂

Because that is a copy of what is on offer occasionally in the Evening.

Not according to post 28 above. In any event there are clearly two menus.

Golden Lion...sans fish and chips at lunchtime?

If true, that's worse news than a narrow Promenade deck!

Golly, standards as are definitely slipping if that's the case! 😄

Difficult.

We had lunch catered by his daughter a few weeks ago and it was faultless,

The Rouxs are pretty special.

Interesting to see different entries on the menu that we never experienced on any of our past sailings on the QM2.

DW and I thought each of the Cunard ships had the same menu being offered. Ex. Fish & Chips, Sandwich Platter, Steak & Mushroom to name a few.

QM2 has always had a reduced menu no starters or burger. QE when ex U K had same as QV but not sure now . My embarkation day routine is Curry in Golden Lion

The menu to which I referred to ( in post 29)  is almost identical to the 'evening offering' in the Pub, October 2023/ 20 day itinerary  (The evening menus would also include a starter)

Although I never dined in the Pub in the evenings, I observed that what was on offer' would occasionally rotate' each evening  . I doubt very much that there are two separate menus , I expect that Fish & Chips which we now hear is  on offer in the evenings  is all part of that rotation.

and I'm sure many others will agree with you,

I've never eaten in the pub, but as M.Roux is apparently 'reimagining' the menu, we have no idea what 'we' will be faced with.

That FB group (no surprise) has a faker in it. First that is not the Golden Lion logo. Second the lunch menu does not have starters - the evening menu does.

I don't understand the point of faking up a menu. But there are a lot of other discrepancies in terms of branding, which Cunard / Carnival are usually very careful about. There are several other menus up thread, see how the red line goes full width, to give an example. Also the Golden Lion is the Golden Lion, it's not formally listed as a pub, but the recent photo has that word in it. So something smells odd here, not just the fish.

Take a look at this earlier "Golden Lion" thread from September 2023. It contains similar images of a Golden Lion menu from QE and a Golden Lion dinner menu from QV. I dare say the menu recently posted on this thread is an exact match to the Golden Lion dinner menu from QV @Lanky Lad posted in reply #22 on that earlier thread.

Which almost confirms my posts 29 & 36. (  of my experience and observation in October 2023)

I am onboard QM2 right now (23 March 2024) and this is the current food menu.

That’s the standard QM2 menu I recognize in format and with usual choices . They have never served the burger which is a shame.

Thank you, is that because it's an embarkation day ?

Might be, today is embarkation for those getting on in Singapore.

Thanks for posting that ChrisMV......I might be Diamond, but I was going to cancel my cruise if I could not have my fish and chips at lunch.  lol     Fish and chips is the main reason to book a cruise. Hope it is still as good as the last time I ate it.
