Reservations for Specialty Dining with Premier Package

Recommended Posts

I’m booked on the Majestic for August and booked the premier package.  I’ve been pretty successful in the past for booking my specialty dinners with no charge ahead of time on the app.  This time, my reservation just wouldn’t go through to the end.  I am happy to report that today I was able to make my reservations on the app and got the dates and times I wanted.  Yahoo!
In addition, no charge was sent to my credit card as they zeroed out the charge due to the premier package.
Nice job Princess!

They charged me for one reserve & did not charge me for the second reservation.

Lucky for some of you.

I expect to visit GS for the refund.

I guess we are still on hold for the SUN P until after June 17th for our mid-October cruise?

App still showing me as "blue" - chat was no help at all - escalated - yeah right

website - booking already taken (or something like that)

Final payment - End of July ...

It's only a 5 day cruise so I know booking the Specialty dinners included with Premier could fill up fast for us lowly Cat DA  ** NOT in a SUITE, NOT on a casino - so no need to post about how always been able to book on board, blah, blah, 7:30, blah, blah, blah - 10 day plus cruises, blah, blah

I’m not on the 5 day Sun, mine is after that, but all my reserv are made over a week ago

I wanted to try 2 new rest and if they charge me & it turns out to not be included I am ok with that.  Gotta lot of messes with them lately.

I am going to set aside a DAY this week to deal with it - and will prolly do the same as we want to do Catch and the Umai Terr....pay if needed, try to take care of on board, refund to credit card, or even refundable credit check mailed - looks like trash mail, blah, blah, blah

I am constantly amazed at how Princess (IT) cannot seem to get certain functions working as they should.  It's a basic database lookup for goodness sakes!  Is this person either Plus or Premier?  Take appropriate action in their transaction...done.  But then again, when I visit other cruise lines' forums it *sounds* as if things are much worse...especially just in trying to book a cruise!

For example, I recently booked a Celebrity sailing.  Their booking process is pretty much the same as all others; select number of people, select type of cabin, do you want insurance....  And there's where it goes off the rails.  You are shown a "running total" of what your booking is at the top of the page.  When you select "Yes" for insurance and continue to the next page, unless you are keeping your *own* running total in your head or on paper...you cannot see that insurance has NOT been applied, even though you are CERTAIN that you clicked YES.  You back up a page and sure enough, insurance is no longer selected.  You have to click it AGAIN, continue to the next page and THEN you will see that the running total has been updated properly.  I missed this entirely the fist time I booked...just barely caught it a month or so later as I was reviewing my docs!

Celebrity.ca never offers me insurance. But always offers a refundable deposit for extra $500+

I prefer Princess and will no longer pre pay what is no longer needed until I board.

Did it show a charge of $78 or $0? When I tried it showed a $78 charge and I didn't want to go any further as I did that once before and was charged. It shouldn't have to be so difficult.

It showed a charge of $0 .. I double checked my credit card bill too, just to be sure.

Has anyone been successful in reservin the new Churasscaria on Sapphire? I was able to book (with Premiere) for Sabatinis without issue, but not one single time slot available for the other specialty dining on this ship...

I would still recommend confirming your reservations immediately upon getting on board. I made the reservations 2 months ago, after final payment. They didn’t make it onboard. We have tried to make another reservation on our second day onboard after noticing it, and every reservation is taken ALL WEEK.

Granted, I have Plus status, not Premiere, but nothing is available. My $200 OBC May end up being a bottle of duty free Johnny Walker Blue Label to take back home.

Good to know and I will definitely confirm unless we don’t get a card in our room to show our reservations.  Recently, that’s what we have experienced.  We like to go early so, we haven’t had any issues while onboard to switch it up if needed, even for very booked sailings.

We have always been able to get into specialty dining while on board. Those venues are hardly ever busy after 7;30. In our experience

We are sailing on Enchanted Princess in July on a family cruise, and we made our specialty dining reservations at the end of March.  About a month ago, I checked the app and our reservations had disappeared!  I did a chat with Princess, and they verified they were gone.  Luckily I’d taken a screen shot, because the entire family was booking the same reservations.

We had originally combined our dining reservations with my BIL (using his booking number along with ours), and got all our specialty dining credits applied from both bookings, so we didn’t have a charge.  In trying to re-book, the Princess rep said we’d have to pay for the second reservation, because despite all four of us having the premier package (and two booking numbers), our four included meals would be used on the first reservation, and there was no way to apply BIL’s dining credits.

After an hour-long chat, we got our reservations restored, and eventually my BIL figured out how to use the app and get his reservations booked.  No one else in our family group had their reservations cancelled, so I’m not sure what happened.  I keep checking now!

I would like a receipt each time I book a specialty dinner. Seems, once again they have my refund going to a different credit card then the one I used to pay.

Only record is on credit card statement and once cancelled it is no longer on app. The travel summary/ payments  has excursions etc listed but not Specialty dining paid for.

well, finally able to book specialty for our mid-October cruise, but the app did NOT recognize the Premier dining credit, so was charged $90 for 2 for The Catch to our card on file.  I immediately cancelled, so now have a "pending" charge and credit on our card.

Final payment not due until end of July, IF that matters

If we pay and get on the ship, will the charge be refunded to our card on file?  If not, is the OBC refundable?

The $..will be a credit on your credit card usually within a week.

4 days after successfully booking 2 nights of specialty dining I have a charge showing on my credit card for both.

they still owe me $90US on my cancelled Amex & my FCD from the Star TA they cancelled.

If you book and pay now with the premier package- heard it will be refunded on ship as refundable OBC.

disregard above- saw you already had credit to card.

refundable OBC I don't like , but can live with until I get the check (4-6-8? weeks).  We don't need OBC with the Premier package.  Might use some legitimately in the casino, maybe not.

I paid to get the reservations otherwise I would have chanced it to wait. First couple of sailings May be booked up quickly.

We always book on board and have veneer had an issue getting into specialty dining with booking times between 7:30 and 8:00.  They never book 100% prior to sailing

We are talking SUN 5 day, 7 day October.  I want to try 2 new restaurants and got seating and times, dates I prefer. So, I think I made a smart choice for us.

And I have had an issue getting a reserve at Crown Grill on the old Star, so YOU are more fortunate than I am.

I don't know why this has to be so difficult.  We are traveling with another couple and all have Premier Package.  We have booked two evenings in the Crown Grill individually per couple, because no matter how hard we try, we cannot manage to get a table for the four of us without it charging $156 for each night.  Is there a trick that I am missing?

Olay,   I am now in this boat, or on this ship....  (pun intended!!!)

I wonder if I should start a new thread????  Because I have more than one question.

We probably will want to book a Specialty Restaurant on the first night.

I believe that the menu in the MDR is not the best.  (Prime Rib now on last night)

Right now we have PLUS...   So for sure we would have to pay up front to reserve.

1.  If we cancel before departure, will this, for sure, be a credit to our card?

2.  I assume that,  even if we decide to upgrade our package to Premier, any cancellation that is not before departure would be refunded as OBC.   I don't know if we would have any use for more OBC!!!

3.  For Suite guests, (and how many guests would that be on SUN!!!) do they also get a complimentary Specialty Dining on the first night?

We might want a fairly early reservation (do not like to dine too late) to avoid any busy time.  On our last short cruise, when boarding, when we saw the menu in the MDR, immediately went to move our reservation for Crown Grill up to that evening.  They were able to get us in, but Crown Grill was packed, and it did not turn out to be a good experience.

Do we want to book now, and then have to deal with refundable OBC???

Wait until onboard...  maybe upgrade to Premier.    Upgrade to Premier now???
