Central Park rooms

Recommended Posts

The CP staterooms are the same as Ocean View balcony staterooms, except that they look out on the Central Park area. There is a loss of privacy if your drapes are open, and it can be warmer out on the balcony due to lack of air circulation. However, they are generally less expensive than Ocean View balcony staterooms.

We feel that there are few enough areas on Oasis class ships to see the ocean and port areas that if we could not afford an OV balcony, we would rather have a regular OV stateroom than be looking at Central Park or Boardwalk.

I didn't think the Central Park rooms had balconies?!?

There are two kinds of Central Park staterooms, Central Park View (CV) and Central Park View with Balcony (C1, C2). There are many more with balcony. I believe the only ones without a balcony are on deck 9.

We had a central park balcony on Oasis on our May 7th cruise. We were on the 14th floor. Enjoyed it especially in the evenings. Sat on the balcony with drinks and listened to the violin music. We usually get an oceanview balcony on our cruises and probably will again. This was a nice change and the perks are nice.

Despite its utter lack of privacy, I still prefer a central park balcony cabin to a regular OV. Being able to open the door to some fresh air is nice, I also liked being able to retreat to the balcony while the kids are taking a nap.

My first choice remains a suite or a regular oceanview balcony, but if for some reason you can only chose between a central park balcony and an OV, I will go with the central park balcony.

We get them because they are usually much less expensive than regular balcony cabins.

I just booked a Central Park Balcony just to experience the ship. I have never been on Royal Caribbean Ship before, and the price was cheaper than a Ocean View...

This is another reason why we booked this as well for the perks... I think Sabors is listed as a restaurant as well. We are going there for the Guacamole

I had my first Central Park balcony on Allure last week. I usually have a OV balcony. But I liked it. So much so I booked the same room on Harmony. It reminded me of when I was a kid living in New York City. Sitting out at night. You don't have all the salt you get on a OV. In the morning I could watch the band playing on the pool deck. And as far as the privacy i was fine. You will be aware.

I sailed twice in an ocean view balcony that connected with my DD & DSIL's cabin. That was their choice, so I went along with it. DSIL is wheelchair bound, and he loved overlooking the ocean. I got rather easily bored with the water, especially at night. Also, on one of those trips, heading back to Florida, it was unbearably hot and sunny every afternoon.

I cruised once in an interior with my other DD. It was okay, but we fell in love with the Central Park balcony on our next cruise. We chose that again on both Oasis and Harmony, and are booked in future on Allure and Symphony in Central Park balconies - always on deck 10. Deck 10 is low enough to watch people walking through the park while sitting in our chairs, but high enough to not be completely visible to those who might look up.

Even on hot days, the balcony is in the direct sun for only an hour or two. I love looking out at all the greenery. At night there are twinkling lights in the trees, and live music most evenings. I have no interest in a Boardwalk balcony, but Central Park is a location we enjoy, at a price that is usually not much more than an interior. Someone else said it reminded them of living in NYC. I never lived in a big city, but that's what it feels like to me, in a neighborhood overlooking a quiet park.

It isn't usually as breezy as an ocean balcony, and we spent a lot of time out there playing Scrabble and cards, and reading. If my experience sounds delightful to you, you'll probably enjoy a Central Park balcony. The perks they added starting last November are an added bonus, and we haven't found privacy to be an issue. You really can't see much in the rooms across the way unless they have their lights on after dark with the drapes open.

We had our first CP balcony a couple of months ago, and we enjoyed it. Still prefer an ocean view balcony, but it was a nice option. I was worried about it being too hot and the air kinda stagnant in there, but it was very comfortable and usually a breeze coming thru there too. Would certainly do it again.

We almost always get an OV balcony but decided to try something new and book a Central Park Balcony on our upcoming Allure cruise in October. We also were able to benefit from the drastically low price, kids cruise free sale, and the added bonus of Eat/Drink/Play. I will try and remember to post back of our experience. We are looking forward to it.

Totally agreed with everything you mentioned above!

We booked the CP balcony for the first time on the Harmony TA last fall. I was so worried reading the reviews in here about lack of privacy and missing the view of the ocean etc. But as soon as we stepped onto the balcony and saw the central park and heard the music from the guitar and piano, we made a decision then and there to only book CP balcony on the Oasis class. We have a JS room booked on the Freedom TA this fall and I am not looking forward to having the ocean view balcony. It was so nice to be able to sit in the Central Park balcony at all hours, not dealing with the wind, rain or wet chair. Broadwalk balcony is more noisy than Central Park.

For my wife and I, we have differing opinions with Central Park or neighborhood balconies. I prefer the ocean view balconies over the neighborhood balconies where my wife prefers the opposite. I like to be able to see where we are at and something different, as I feel like a bird in a cage with the neighborhood balconies. My wife loves to people watch so she spends much more time on that balcony than ocean view balcony.

To each their own.. :D

We booked five CP balcony cabins for June 2018......two cabins are for teens. I am sure they will really enjoy the bottle of red and the casino lesson. Can I hold RCCL to actually give them the wine and lesson?

I would avoid all Central Park and boardwalk balconies. My idea of vacation is not looking at cabins across from u. Little to no privacy. I go on a cruise to see the ocean not at a bunch of rooms and people.

If there is no one over 21 registered in the room, no wine... and if no one over 18 registered in the room, no casino lesson

sorry...
