  1. They wouldn't have been in Jamaica long enough to even go through those proceedings. Baby was born in international waters Tuesday, got to Jamaica Wednesday and flew to Miami Friday.
  2. But this baby was born in international waters, so the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness kicks in, which would default citizenship to the mother/parents.
  3. So that's two ships this week that had a premature delivery dropped while on board
  4. Another article. The mother was supposedly 22 weeks. https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/pre-mature-baby-successfully-delivered-on-cruise-ship/
  5. "Neonatologist Dr. Jorge Perez said the 2-pound baby boy was born at a little over five weeks on board the Jewel of the Seas." A little over 5 weeks? Man journalism is dead.
  6. Travel insurance may not cover the mother either, depending on the particular policy since pregnancy can be a gray area.
  7. The funny/sad thing is the current search supports searching by date range. When you pick your months, the full dates appear in the URL. You can then change the dates to be specific days of a given month.
  8. That's why California had (and to a degree still has, at least in LA) some of the strictest covid rules in the country, despite having the same rates of covid cases and deaths as anywhere else.
  9. Looks like Quantum was docked at the time. An exercise or maintenance activity gone bad?
  10. The only places I've been the last year that required a mask were an airport (before that rule got shot down), a cruise terminal (before that rule got shot down) and a doctor's office (which was hardly enforced) It's a shame you're stuck living places that still require them.
  11. And you can go to your local walmart and get one of those tails.
  12. If it's carbonated (soda), comes in its own bottle (water, soda, powerade), is a coffee drink beyond just a regular cup of joe, is alcoholic or can be alcoholic (mocktails) then it's not included. Everything else is included.
  13. They've been back for a couple months. But maybe not consistently across the fleet
  14. Dinning may be free, but is rarely complimentary. Dining on the other hand, that's complimentary.
  15. I've never paid more than about $300 per person (3 people) per day for a GS 7-nighter. Of course my upcoming 5-night Christmas sailing was hefty.
  16. Gee, wonder why no one is calling NCL, just look at their Q3 results NCL: Sequential Occupancy improvement to approximately 82% in the quarter, consistent with guidance. Given fourth quarter Occupancy is typically lower due to seasonality, we expect Occupancy to be in the mid-to-high 80 percent range RC: Load factors in the third quarter were 96% overall, with Caribbean sailings reaching almost 105%. Based on continued strength in consumer demand and typical load factor seasonality, the company expects fourth quarter load factors to be similar to third quarter overall, and to reach triple digits by year-end.
  17. Don't get me started about them swapping Patagonian Toothfish for Chilean Sea Bass.
  18. They likely had to wait for a software update from the vendor
  19. I was able to do this once, but the rest of the time they said they couldn't bring anything in.
  20. Pre-covid, you could only get what they brought into the lounge on the mobile bar. Post-covid, depends on the ship. If the lounge has a fixed bar, then you get the suite bar menu. If not you can order anything that the bar next door can pour, which is about anything. And yes you can take drinks out of the lounge. We do it every night, taking one to dinner with us.
  21. Until those ships aren't sailing full all the time then there's no reason RC should change anything
  22. There aren't exactly many options to sail to out of Bayonne on a 7 night cruise. Yet the ships are still full. But there are over 20 countries/islands one can visit on an RC cruise out of the Caribbean market. Just not from NY
