  1. @DaKahuna thanks for pointing me here. Look forward to following along on @JamieLogical live. I don't think I would have seen it otherwise. Hope you both have wonderful cruise.
  2. Yes but probably need the Premium Package to use without lots of buffering.
  3. Sorry to hear. I'm sure there must be others. When Celebrity drops the ball like this it is a real kick in the face. Do you have the Zenith Desk phone number. If not email me and I will send to your or could just e-mail Andrea Shey at ashey@celbrity.com - As Director of Loyalty she will be the best person to address the issue.
  4. Interesting. I didn't realize the complete fleet had not yet been upgraded to StarLink.
  5. Yea... Looking forward to it. I really have enjoyed reading many of the Lives about NCL YC. I'll be interested in hearing of your experience. While I like the concept and the price, I'm still undecided if we will ever try them due to size of the ships and what I've read and seen on YouTube of the experience when one leaves the YC enclave. Can't wait to follow along.
  6. I was curious about that. After years of cruising we usually dine in Specialties on the first night. First night on most cruises we have done are always a disaster as both guest and crew get accustomed to requirements and lots of questions. Things always see so much better on day 2 onward.
  7. Hate to say it that after Iain retired we rarely get up to the City. I may just have to stop off at Whole Foods and see what they have. I was just there dropping off an Amazon package yesterday before I read you post. We were low on Ice Cream and I picked up some Haggen Dazs at Target. Maybe we are boring but was just Vanilla.
  8. Yes we will be on QM2. We now have 2 crossings booked. We will be taking her instead of flying prior to a Oceania Med Cruise and Celebrity TransAtlantic back. At current First Class Air it is almost a deal and so much more fun. While I'm very comfortable reading menus on my iPhone it makes it so much easier to take photos of them for my Live Posts if I have a real menu and can get the correct lighting to make a copy.
  9. Yes PlusGrade does work with each client and builds in certain priorities if client requests. This is how Celebrity's Status affects bidding - As a valued Captain’s Club member your bid gets a bonus boost based on your tier. So, you get more value than what you bid. Classic members get an extra 1% multiplier, Select members get a 2% multiplier, Elite members get a 3% multiplier, Elite Plus members get a 4% multiplier, and Zenith members get a 5% multiplier. So if all other things are equal -- If I bid $100 as a Zenith my bid is $105 (but only pay $100) and a person with Classic bid $100 would be $101. Thus the Zenith would be awarded the upgrade.
  10. Discounts are always good... You don't have to be REAL senior to qualify. AAA for example consider you a Senior at 50 and can use discounts at many hotels.
  11. Fantastic. Do it. It is one of those hidden treats. There are only about 8-10 slots and is great fun. We did one in Murano Kitchen and one in the old Olympic Kitchen. While we all did mess up along the way, our lunch was professionally made. It is a fun event.
  12. They have done similar on E-Class ships. They have a sail away party on the Retreat Deck. Also Summit - even though they had the helipad open for the Fjords of Greenland they had a event at Retreat Sun Deck with Officers, Hot Chocolate and Hot Toddies. Lots of blankets.
  13. The safety videos are also available on all stateroom TV's or if you go to the muster they will give you a quick one in person.
  14. It really depends on whether their is a Priest on the ship. In the OLD DAYS many cruise lines comped rooms for officiants, but I don't believe they no longer do. Of course I could be wrong. I've been on many cruises where where they have had Christmas Mass, Hanukah and non-denominational services. I don't know who can officiate at what type of service but I believe on a Passover Service I remember reading that a passenger lead the service who was not a Rabi.
  15. It will ---You just need the magic decoder ring - Celebrity IT is not known for being intuitive. Under your cruise click Select a Different Cruise Under Upcoming Cruise Choose View All At very bottom choose "Don't see your cruise - Let's add it At the very bottom above the picture of a ship - Choose Browse our Ships Select Ship and then select the current cruise.
  16. Sorry to hear ..... I can only imagine. I guess you never tried Kelly's Munchkin Chairs in the retreat. I was about the only one that could fit in one since I'm referred to as NAA (No A$$ At All). They were a real failure - they eventually replaced them fleet wide and moved them to Kids Camp at Sea
  17. There was always something special of the Swensen's on Hyde Street. It still feels like an Ice Cream Parlor from the early 50's.
  18. LOL--- I even asked Iain who lived in SF for 20 years and he had never heard of them also. Also saw they have one in Campbell at Pruneridge. I guess I'll just wait and try in in September on our first Oceania Cruise. Like many other things we travel the world but we never enjoy the things in our backyard.
  19. The time difference of standing on line at 6:30 as oppose to just getting on the end of the line when Walk Off's are called is maximum of 15 minutes, probably 10. If that 10 minutes makes a difference definitely get in line. Suites usually begin around 7:15.
  20. I'm also 6ft and have never had a problem with height. It's the hardness of them and things like sofa's in Retreat with legs in the front 4 inches higher than the rear. You sit down and your legs almost go flying in the air, let alone trying to get up out of them.
  21. Fantastic. Sounds like you will be having your initiation on your next cruise. You can invite as many of your friends as you like or can have it for just the two of you. We only had one guest for our event. Hope they have enough Zenith's aboard for your first Zenith Lunch and reception.
  22. Would suggest you look on the Celebrity App for the current cruise. It will list all the entertainment by day and the time of each set.
  23. The real test will be to hear if they chairs and sofa's that are comfortable and utilitarian. Hopefully they cut ties with Kelly Hoppen.
  24. I've heard they were available on the App but also have never found them there -- but again I never looked there either.
  25. When you say Hostess - was that in a suite ? Suites normally meet in Retreat and when ready they escort down in groups (usually one retreat escort per elevator load) and they walk us down to the tender which is sitting empty) They usually have a number of Hosts an Butlers that assist. If later than the first tender they escort you down when they get a call a tender is available and escort us to a separate lane for tagging off the ship.
