  1. They have subtle differences due to when they were last amped/upgraded/refurbished. Just check them out on the RC site and you'll notice certain differences in food venues, bars, etc. That said, they are VERY similar, so unless a certain venue really appeals to you, the cheapest makes sense (factor in traveling costs and convenience of course).
  2. I have two choices, pale or burnt, so I choose pale. Walmart brand (Equate) SPF 50 has always worked for me but I'm OK with being Casper (I'm not actually THAT pale).
  3. You aren't asked to upload them in the app anymore. (As an aside, doesn't look like we'll be able to get to D+ on next June's Wonder cruise but did manage to squeeze in another 4 nights on Indy next month; that's how I know. As it stands, we'll be exactly 7 points short at least so will likely get there on the next cruise after Wonder in June at least.)
  4. We sought shelter in Chill Grill b/c it was nearby when it started pouring in July. Standing room only and not completely enclosed but it served its purpose.
  5. Definitely do not trust the app as far as menus go this far out. I recently had some not fully update until embarkation day. The app often shows you the menus for the current sailing even though you're logged into your future cruise.
  6. It's like a BBC but with very exotic and oddly spelled fruits. 😁
  7. You don't have to but I choose to. Adding the words "diamond drink" to my order isn't exactly a hassle. "I'd like an XYZ, diamond drink, please."
  8. Try independent excursions, you will likely save money, have more options, and not have to wait for whenever RC feels like making them available.

  10. Don't trust the forecast on Sunday morning let alone sooner. "Subject to change" is an understatement.
  11. Finished checking in for a cruise 45 days out this morning and can't access my set sail pass via app or website. Typical RC IT issues. I only care b/c I have a GTY and I'd like to use the bar code trick to check my cabin assignment
  12. You can view the menus in the app. Choose the current sailing if yours doesn't have the menus loaded.
  13. No worries, I was being a bit sarcastic/humorous. It's VERY casual/relaxed in the Caribbean. My point was it's not really possible to be that much more casual/relaxed than it already is in the Caribbean.
  14. 4. I saw shorts at night on Harmony a few months ago, just like I see in the MDR. 5. Agree about the night one filet, it was excellent, but the rest of the dinners were only slightly better than the MDR (if that) IMO, not specialty restaurant quality.
  15. MORE casual? Not sure how much more casual it could get.
  16. FWIW, the last time I read about this type of change I believe everyone who had already purchased packages just got the extra days at no extra charge. I want to say it was even better, like a 3 or 4-night was changed to a 7-night but I could be wrong.
  17. Yes, there should be a button to modify your bid.
  18. I can see it now..."Private hallway with direct access to the Windjammer!" I'm in!
  19. My blackjack days are long behind me but that's pretty accurate. When I was 21 and didn't have much money, I used to go to the casino in the early AM so I could play $5 BJ b/c, as you said, limits went up as the day went on.
  20. This is more based on land-based casino experience from years past, but I'd ask the casino manager if they could make a table $10 or whatever you're hoping for. Worst they can do is say no. Common sense dictates that low limit tables bring in more revenue than empty tables but I have no idea how much control cruise casino managers have. For all I know, corporate has told them "no tables under $15."
  21. I ask my wife what color polo/short sleeve button down to wear each night to go with her casual dress or slightly nicer top. We're very coordinated... need to take at least 2 decent pictures to use our Diamond freebies on... then the pictures usually wind up in a drawer. 🤣
  22. Not formal at all. You'll see shorts and t-shirts. Dress shirt and tie will put him above average in terms of how formal men are dressed. He should feel free to wear whatever he is comfortable with.
  23. I'm not picky and book many GTY cabins but the one place I'd prefer not to be is on such a low deck. In addition to the issues mentioned above, you're an awful long way from the higher decks where most people spend quite a bit of time.
  24. Usually on the dates of the flier, but RCI could very well say the sale is "sold out" and won't honor the price. Damn, I must have been super unclear, lol. I know it starts on the dates of the flier. I was asking it if was midnight or whatever. Anyway, it's all good, I booked the one I wanted last week on Wednesday morning. It's $5/pp more this week, woohoo! 😁
