  1. Did anyone seriously think that they were not going to extend it?
  2. Wait until next year when the same posters will authoritatively tell us all that it is about to be eliminated. And then the same cycle of posts and responses will happen until it is of course reinstated as it is every year.
  3. Of course it does despite those who want to post in the cc groups for the various cruise lines owned by the Carnival Corporation that it is about to disappear. But they will be back next year to tell us that it is about to disappear. You can count on that.
  4. When does it open? We are on a river cruise in late March, and I believe it is one of the stops.
  5. Before our Prima cruise this past summer, I tried to read the many negative reviews with a grain of salt. And I focused on the positive reviews. And DW and I loved the ship and the cruise.
  6. I was not sure if our OBC from our TA was refundable or not. Simple solution, I asked at guest services. (It was not).
  7. You can have more than a vague idea of what you want to do when you do it yourself if you research the ports before the cruise.
  8. @cruisemom42, I believe this is the thread: 195 replies, and then shut down by the mods.
  9. There was an ongoing discussion about this in the NCL boards while it was evolving. And as the OP noted that the testing for cholera proved negative. Not that norovirus is not a real problem, but it is not as serious as cholera.
  10. I believe the river cruise lines are still building small ships. NCL is by no means building small ships, but at least the Prima/Viva class is smaller than their last builds before them while other cruise lines seem to be in a competition to build the largerst ships.
  11. Agree 100%. The same thing happened to us.
  12. Yup, I discovered that there were no computers when we sailed the Prima this past summer. I saw on the deck plans and assumed internet cafe meant there would be computers.
  13. With BOGO they had transfers. IIRC, they were $75 per person, but I could be wrong.
  14. This past summer we flew Air Canada from Newark to Montreal to Heathrow in London. I was talking to the rep to make sure they had our passport numbers, frequent flyer information, and that we were requesting vegetarian meals. i mentioned after the flight we were going on a cruise and would be celebrating our 46th anniversary. He said wait, let me get back to you, and when he came back he let us pick seats in advance for free. 😊
  15. I have a feeling there never were computers in the internet cafe on the Prima. When I posted about this on my review of our cruise, others did say there were still computers on other ships. It was the place passengers signed up to use their internet minutes.
  16. I had hoped to do a live from the Prima this past summer, but then I discovered that their internet cafe had no computers! (no phone)
  17. And let us not even consider what you should be doing on the poop deck. 🤣
  18. This came up in the ask a cruise question forum, and I thought it might be better asked here.
  19. Thank you, but can that statement be made for all travel insurance policies, or just the one you checked? Maybe this is a better question for the insurance forum on these boards. I have now posted the question there. We shall see if there are answers.
  20. Air Canada! NCL put us on Air Canada this summer Newark to Montreal and then Montreal to Heathrow. The first flight kept getting delayed. i kept asking if it would be a problem catching our second flight and was told no. We finally got off the ground. I spoke with the lady sharing our row of 3 who was Canadian and said Air Canada was always delayed. We had flown with them once before going home for a cruise and they were delayed. We landed and then waited and waited for a place for the airplane to park. We literally ran to our new gate where they were already boarding our second flight. And it was the only Air Canada flight we have ever been on that was not delayed. 🤦‍♂️
  21. We sailed that itinerary on the Prima last summer. We never did make reservations in the MDR, but were told you could.
  22. We both had our photos retaken in Southampton last summer. It was no big deal. And that was after quite a hassle to get photos to work online. The only real difference in the photos as far as I could tell was the agent said I could keep my glasses on.
  23. A board of directors votes at a meeting. This has always been on the agenda of the annual meeting.
  24. I think morally handicapped might be more appropriate than mentally handicapped.
