  1. They'll play the video over and over throughout the cruise
  2. How about bringing a French Press and ordering a pot of hot water (like you would for tea) from room service?
  3. Once you accept the fact that nobody really cares (and probably won't even notice) that you rewear a top, or pants, or a pair of shoes, it's a lot easier to scale down what you bring.😊
  4. Agreed, there's more to value than just the bottom line. One cruise may have better ports of call, or a homeport that offers more things you want to do. Another may have ship features you really enjoy.
  5. If you access your booking on the Carnival website. under your "booking and order details" there is a place to link you dinner companions.
  6. In addition to my regular daily meds and supplements, I take Acetomenophen, Ginger capsules ( for nausea and seasickness), antacids, Imodium, Azo (just in case of UTI); decongestant, cough drops, band-aids OTC meds are available in the shops (When they are open) and are very pricey, so I bring these on "just in case" I keep small amounts of these in a zipper pouch that I can just throw in my travel bag
  7. Door decorations; Over-the-door organizers; Art Auctions; Faster to the Fun; Lido Pool; carry-on soda; Casino Table games; smuggling liquor; smoking
  8. If it's a simple cruise - drive to port. just us or another couple with us - I just book though the website, For something more complicated -fly to port, need transfers, larger group.I tend to use a travel agent.
  9. I think you will find similar cancellation policies across cruise lines
  10. Received several offers on our recent Sunshine cruise for "upgrade" from porthole to interior on a higher deck, not an upgrade IMO.- I turned them down. Have received no offers for any of my other booked cruises
  11. Port authorities are state jurisdictions. All this dig-sniffing seems to be mostly a Texas thing, and perhaps Florida too
  12. Unfortunately, BB does not include coffee, teas, milkshakes and some specialty bottled drinks (e.g. energy drinks)
  13. Just got an e-mail regarding changes to many of Elation's 2024 & 2025 Itineraries - changes from Princess Cay to Half Moon Cay, or switching days for HMC and Nassau, and some hours changes. We're on the 3/9 sailing, and HMC and Nassau are switched. My planner shows the change of days, but still shows my Nassau shore excursion on the original date which is now HMC. It does say that changes will reflect within 24 hours. I'll keep checking. If you have Elation booked, look for an email, or check your planner for changes.
  14. Last cruise we had a porthole cabin and I was offered an "upgrade" to an interior cabin on a higher floor. Of course I did not take it, as IMO an interior is never an upgrade from a porthole..
  15. I love Elation! Will sail her again in March.
  16. Most hotels will hold luggage for just the cost of a tip, I have actually checked luggage with the bellhop large hotels in NOLA even when I was not staying there (Such as when I was at a meeting),
  17. Drago's in the Hilton would be great for Dinner
  18. First time cruising on Carnival and going with a complete cruise newbie. We will be on the Liberty on November 13. My newbie sister has asked me questions which I can't answer so I hope someone here can help. 1. Can you ask your stateroom attendant for extra pillows? Sister likes to sleep propped up and one by her side. We usually ask our steward for extra pillows and have always gotten them. 2. She has really low sodium so she uses an unflavored electrolyte liquid in her water. Instead of bringing a big bottle, I told her to put some in an bottle that has an eyedropper. She is worried about bringing a small unmarked container in her purse through security. Will this be an issue? Probably not, though she may be asked to explain what it is, I have never been questions about any items in my bag 3. Do they have towels to use out by the pools or do we need to bring our own? No need to bring towels; there are towel stations on pool decks 4. Do we tender at Princess Cays or does it dock? Tender Port Thank you and fair seas to all Trixie
  19. We were on Sunshine in September. I did not notice any cleanliness issues, I did love the Serinity area- Plenty of comfortable, shaded seating. We spent a good deal of our time there.
  20. I've sailed with black-and-white tags before - no problem
  21. The last couple of times we cruised the library was being used as a flex space - Chef's table was held there on one cruise and there were some private events. Maybe they plan to use it that way on Paradise, We will be sailing her in January, so we will see
