  1. The texting functions should work with the basic wifi package.
  2. Have you done RCL? There is a reciprocal agreement between the loyalty programs. If you find you are at different CC levels than your partner you can get your accounts linked provided you share a home address. Either call or visit the Captains Club Concierge when onboard.
  3. You select the cabin you want and pay the price of 1 subcategory down. For example if you want to book an A1 cabin you pay the A2 price. Not all categories are eligible. Also there has to be cabin available in the lower category cabin. Here is a chart which explains it for the old and new categories.
  4. I don't believe it has to be a new cruise, just a charge from Celebrity Cruises. Like others have said I just bought $500 of OBC using the card on an existing booking. Then at the end of the sailing I went to Guest Services and asked for it to be refunded to me in cash. Not a problem. Another time I used it as the card for checkin to cover my onboard charges. Final bill was over $500 but didn't qualify as the charge came through as Celebrity Summit OB or something like that indicating it was onboard charges which don't qualify.
  5. You can upload vax pictures from the app. But you have to scan you passport and can only take a photo for the boarding photo. I usually skip the boarding photo and complete everything else on the app. Then I go to the web browser on my laptop where the boarding photo can be uploaded. I also correct my contact phone number as the app puts your emergency contact number in that field. I reported this bug to Celebrity well over a year ago and it's yet to be fixed.
  6. I do too but that one looks like a hot mess. Usually much more visually attractive.
  7. I called about Chase Sapphire Reserve coverage and probably like you was told that Covid is treated as any other illness and if you test positive and are unable to travel Trip Cancellation is applicable. I asked if only certified positive test results were required and they said yes. I would probably also report it to my Dr so it would be in their records as well. I also asked about testing positive during the cruise and the possibility of having to isolate after disembarkation before returning home. I was told there is no coverage for these costs. I know others have said that Trip Delay should cover but that's not what I was told. This is my interpretation of what I was told by the agent on the phone so please don't take it as gospel. If you have any questions you should call yourself, the wait wasn't very long and the agent very pleasant.
  8. In which case you do have travel insurance. If it's coverage is adequate for you situation is up to you. Just like any other travel insurance policy.
  9. If you had any symptoms even if testing negative and assuming you are honest on the health questionnaire you would be further screened by the ships medical staff. They would determine if you are able to board or not. If not you would be entitled to a refund with the current policy. Assuming they test you and you test negative you would be allowed to board although maybe with some restrictions.
  10. So mine might still be on the way😀 Probably not since I've already been sailing since the restart and have several more on the books.
  11. I think the upcharge for AI is around $50 pp/pd. If you require wifi and consider the tips then generally it makes sense to take AI as a couple of soft drinks, or special coffee, or bottles of water will eat up the difference. But certainly do the numbers based on the value you place on each of the 3 perks.
  12. The Oct Summit Repo is only docked in Bermuda from 11am - 5pm which really doesn't give enough time to do anything outside the dockyard. Many of us on the Roll Call wish they would just skip the stop to avoid the Bermuda requirements including the $40 pp even if you don't step foot off the ship.
  13. They have always stated to us the Healthy at Sea Country requirements page for the latest requirements. Even before the latest changes it was common to get auto generated emails with incorrect information.
  14. Not judging just asking. Did your other cabin mates isolate with you? Did you get room service delivery for food/drink? Did you suspend cabin service by the stateroom attendant? If any of the above did anyone from Celebrity question you about your situation?
  15. They feel they can fill the AQ and Retreat cabins with the profit laden AI fares. Once bookings return to the point where they can demand AI pricing for the rest of the inventory you will for sure see the cruise only fares only on poorly selling itineraries.
  16. I know what you are saying but calling the ice tea in Oceanview "real" is a bit of a stretch 😀.
  17. The are continually shortening itineraries to boost revenue. Equinox was 11/10 day last fall, 10/9 this fall and I think 9/8 next fall. Many of us miss the 14 night Southern Caribbean itinerary that used to be done by Constellation and Eclipse.
  18. I did laugh a bit before the shutdown when the carving station had meatloaf. Turkey on the buffet is almost always wonderful. Way better than the turkey on the MDR menu.
  19. Constellation had the port side cabins added much earlier than Summit and Millennium where they were added during the Revolution updates in 2019/2020. Notice they have not been added yet to Infinity.
  20. I find like others that the crew that delivers room service don't really expect to be tipped and are in and out in a flash. Having a small tip ready has always been happily accepted. When delivered by room steward or personal retreat host we hold off and factor the room service delivery into our final tip at the end of the sailing.
  21. It's 2 bottles per guest. It's the policy see my quote of Celebrity FAQ in post 8. Someone recently posted that they brought 6 bottles onboard as they were a couple traveling with a small child.
  22. It's 2 bottles per guest and no corkage if you have an alcohol package. Reference https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/all-faqs See section on alcoholic beverages Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guests are permitted to bring onboard with them up to two (2) bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guests. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package.
