  1. If you use OBC I've never been charged the 5% fee. You just go to the cage and tell them you want to use xx amount of OBC for chips. They will give you "promo" chips which can't be cashed out directly. You bet them and any winnings are provided in real chips. You can also pre-purchase chips in your cruise planner for a 10% bonus. Buy $50 and get $55. You can use your Celebrity OBC for purchases on cruise planner.
  2. I agree and rarely provide the information. In this case they have certainly done due diligence and have escalated as far as possible to this point. Over 20 years of sailing with Celebrity I've had to escalate to this level twice. Neither case should have required attention at this level but they don't empower even the most upper levels of customer service or even resolutions department to do the right thing.

  4. I know the gratuity was included in specialty dining since it's inception. I never heard a percentage. At one time before Luminae suites got a free specialty dinner for every 7 days cruised. At that time they charged a $5 gratuity (around 10%) for these free dinners. That didn't last too long and they were actually "free". I think the 18% is just crazy. Why not 20% like beverages etc? Why make it different?
  5. I stand by the comment as my advise moving forward was to escalate to the executive levels. While general customer service I expect 24x7 coverage the executive offices are a 9-5 Monday-Friday operation.
  6. I was looking for another contact email at Celebrity on the Elliott Management site and saw this new position listed. To me this would be the high level manager responsible for the Retreat experience. I would send her an email documenting the experience you were expecting is not being provided.   7. The weekend is not the time to be trying to get this resolved. Since you have seemed to do all the right things already I would send an email to the executive office.   8. No Jim of Jim and Iian who is a frequent poster here reported that he dealt with this directly and his booking was through a TA.
  9. Just so people are aware, federal funding for testing has run out. Tests at Walgreens/CVS will now cost you around $130 which may be covered by insurance but I doubt it if you don't have symptoms.
  10. Usually if you have a get together the butler can arrange some cold "snacks" like fruit/cheese sometimes shrimp. Anything beyond that would be above and beyond by the butler. Of course chances of additional "extras" increases in the higher level suites. In a SS if the butler provided some extra bottles of the complimentary sparkling wine you get in the room on boarding you would be doing well. Don't expect it. Remember that setting up a gathering like this is above and beyond their normal duties so tip accordingly.

  12. I suspect they dropped a new version of the website to correspond with the pricing structure changes introduced today. Looks like there are bugs which have been pretty standard during these transitions. I would never book/deposit directly on their website. I might put something on hold. Get the guest invoice to verify everything is correct, then call and deposit. Better yet go through a good TA.
  13. Some ships may have tea kettles onboard because they sail out of the UK. A ship like Equinox which is US year round probably doesn't have them onboard.
  14. The couple sailings I have checked in the last couple of hours doesn't have any choices for cruise only or always included or whatever they are calling it today. I suspect their IT department is having trouble dealing with the new pricing structures.
  15. Sept 8 sailing there are no changes. I was just saying that their new port order matches what ours has been all along.
  16. Is this the Princess ship? If so we were anchored right next to it in Grand Cayman on Century during the day where it caught fire after we left.

  19. Zeniths are not allowed to dine in Luminae if they are not in a suite. I wonder if it was some other VIP but even still I'm surprised if they were not accompanied by an officer.

  21. I had this situation on a sailing where others on my roll call were having their suites repriced when all suites were sold out. My TA was unable to see prices as there were no cabins available. He called a couple of times and was told no. Eventually providing "evidence" from others on the roll call he was able to get Celebrity to do it. I wouldn't blame the TA. I really don't think you should be able to do it. It appears that some CVP's will though. Think about it, why should they reduce prices or add perks when they have already sold all the cabins of the category?

  23. No showing the report on your phone/ipad is fine. Just make sure you don't need network connection to be able to pull it up. One suggestion is to pull it up on your screen and take a screenshot and save.
  24. Should show up almost immediately on the Cruise Planner. You should ask your TA to provide the Celebrity Guest Invoice, there is a section on that invoice which will list OBC from Celebrity. If they won't do that get them to detail all your perks on their TA invoice (which they should do anyway) which should include Celebrity perks and anything directly from the TA.
