  1. They accept bids on unavailable categories as there are always people who don't show up for the sailing or cancel last minute for various reasons. Cancellations are a bit higher now due to covid and the airline situations but it's still a crap shoot. If you were to decide to take the Sky Suite and you really wanted the higher level suite I would inform the Retreat Concierge on boarding that you would be interested if one were to become available. Then if one were available they would make you an offer and you could accept/reject.
  2. The Aft Sky Suites are very nice and you get the suite amenities other than the extras of the highest level suite. If you are looking for a suite I would seriously consider this as from the sounds of it your chances of getting one via bidding would be remote even with a strong bid.
  3. You also want to consider the difference in what you paid to the current promo price. Sometimes it's easier and cheaper to just upgrade at the current rate. Bidding really depends on how much value you place on the upgrade.
  4. You are correct that that ship has not been Revolutionized so does not include the sun deck. I wouldn't expect you would get much use of the sun deck on an Alaska itinerary anyway. Those upper forward looking decks are there, they are now just available to everyone and are just open deck with loungers. The Retreat Lounge is still called Michaels Club but that's not an issue as the name change was just marketing, still a private lounge for suite guests.
  5. When you say "up to" is that the maximum bid or the minimum. Remember bids are per person. The RS on S class ships is one of my favorite staterooms and does come with a bunch of extra amenities over the CS like bar setup and unlimited specialty dining.
  6. I know the Infinity repo was priced really nicely when it opened so I assume there is a significant difference in price since Panama Canal usually commands a premium due to the transit cost. We have done 3 full transits of the canal and for many of the reasons stated by others would probably choose the canal itinerary.
  7. The OP and others were also talking about United. Were you by chance talking about Delta who's Amex card is linked to the FF account and you don't need to use that Amex to book flights to still get the free bags?
  8. It's been reported for months that some people booked in deck 6 balcony cabins on "S" class ships have been moved due to quarantine cabin requirements. Could be crew or passenger.
  9. The way I understood it the TA was only given the amount that the passenger would be reimbursed, not the actual refund. In the US I don't know of any cases where payment/reimbursement goes through the TA, its always directly between the passenger and Celebrity.
  10. Recoleta Grand. Here is the email for the front desk who was very responsive to my questions frontdesk@recoletagrand.com. If you decide to book do so on their website as it was much less than the normal hotel booking sites. Any questions about reservations reservas1@recoletagrand.com. Also very responsive (hrs, not days) Make sure to "unlock" special rates as it was a significant reduction. https://www.recoletagrand.com/en
  11. You can refill personal water bottles but are required to use a cup to transfer.
  12. No perks transfer, your new booking is just that a new booking at prevailing rates. They will honor OBC from an onboard booking but it has to be applied manually. Maybe that's what your talking about? Booking perks no.
  13. The forward outdoor pool also has steps. I think 2 or 3 then a turn and another 1 or 2 into the pool.
  14. We use the travel benefits of the Sapphire Reserve and find they more than offset the high yearly fee.
  15. Was going to buy more shares yesterday, glad I didn't down 11.5% today.
  16. Has TA contacted Celebrity and confirmed?
  17. The portion of the daily gratuity rate that goes to the PRH is around $3.50 pp. I use some multiple of that to determine what I might leave as an extra amount based on the amount of "extra" service.
  18. Non-alcoholic drinks are included in the classic package. Both people in the cabin must book the same level of perks (cruise only, AI, Elevate etc). That is not the case with upgrade to premium as passengers can do that individually.
  19. We were on Constellation in April in a suite on deck 6. We could see it when we look up on deck 7. I think you will find it's the last cabin on the port side on deck 7.
  20. It's still advertised as available in suite upon request. I've never understood room service from Luminae as being standard. I have read here that some have had the experience as well as being able to get SR delivered for in-room dining. I believe these are 1 off and probably only happen for upper suites.
  21. Yes they took the comfortable chairs from Rendezvous. We found the new seating in Rendezvous somewhat stupid in the back where they have sofas facing each other and can't see the dance floor/band.
  22. OBC is never "Free". You have paid Celebrity for it. It's like doc fees when buying a car. Guaranteed profit.
  23. Frankly there is almost zero difference between MC and Retreat Lounge other than branding. The only concrete difference is the serving area they added. We really like what they did to the Connie MC leaving the dark paneling but doing grey/green carpet and cream colored upholstery.
  24. 3 weeks out your Edocs should be available and it's not tied to online checkin. You may need to call to see what's up with your Edocs (which contain the luggage tag page).
