  1. But it retains the original use by date.
  2. Were you looking at the site via your reservation or just using the general "get a quote" method? I've heard that sometimes they include the air promo % off in the pricing on the general site. Can you see the same price through the airline site? If so just cancel with Celebrity and book via the airline.
  3. Are menus on the TV? I thought they used to be on some ships. The APP situation would seem to be something a competent IT (shoreside) could fix. Oh yea talking about Celebrity IT sorry.
  4. I wish Celebrity (and all lines) would make an example of a few people violating this or other safety policies by putting them off at the next port on their own dime. It wouldn't take many to "enforce" for the rest. Certainly within their right per the contract.
  5. If his card is used for the online checkin then chances are you won't be asked to produce it at the pier. If you are just give them your card and tell them to use that one. No issue at all.
  6. They should read their rules. They are pretty clear. *Prices are per person, cruise only, for stateroom category 12, select sailings and based on double occupancy. Cruise must be booked 05/5/2022 – 06/08/2022 (the “Offer Period”) and applies to 3-night and longer sailings departing 06/01/2022 - 04/30/2024, excluding Galapagos (the “Offer Cruise”). Promo code not required. No Perk Rate: Cruise fare savings amounts are per person, and vary by sailing length. Sale is not combinable with Always Included. Offer is combinable with Airfare Offer, applicable to all guests in the same stateroom and will be automatically applied at checkout. Offer is applicable to inside, oceanview, veranda, and Concierge staterooms. Offer excludes Aqua and Retreat staterooms. Offer available as refundable and non-refundable offer.
  7. It's only for a limited booking time (in the T&C). It looks aimed at bolstering bookings in certain areas given AQ and Retreat are excluded. I suspect if and when they can fill the ships with AI you won't see these again. These rates are more attractive as they are available with choosing your cabin rather than GTY only like the previous Sail Only rates. I also agree they should include tips in any pricing.
  8. When you watch the muster drill it prompts you to select all passengers on the reservation. you can watch it together on 1 device.
  9. No. I don't believe you will see any benefits which don't directly generate revenue return.
  10. Celebrity really needs to empower customer service reps at some level below the CEO's office the ability to "do the right thing" in cases like this. The reason the CEO's office has to deal with so many of these complaints is the people who should be able to handle these things can't.
  11. Do you know if the flight is ticketed or not? Have you tried calling the airline to see if they can accommodate given it's their schedule change.
  12. Your TA is wrong. CWC policy required the sail date to be Sept 30, 2022 or earlier. Any sailing after that doesn't apply regardless of when you booked. Maybe time for a new TA. It's pretty clearly stated in big font here: https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-with-confidence
  13. Take some proctored emed tests with you and take them in the hotel and have the airport as a backup?
  14. Cruise only rates are only available through Celebrity if you call. They are also not available for AQ and Retreat categories. I guess they are trying to avoid the confusion (or maintain the high margins).
  15. Finally decided and booked Recoleta Grand Hotel. I had a few questions/special requests and had sent multiple emails to Recoleta Loi Suites with no response. New TA recommended the Grand over Loi Suites. They responded promptly to several inquires with helpful information. I then booked on their website with a "private deal" unlocked with my FB account which was about 40% less than a popular booking site. Within a few minutes after booking was contacted again regarding the room type I booked as it was unavailable because their booking system had not been updated past March 2023. They offered a suitable replacement at a similarly great price. All fully refundable up to 48 hrs prior pay at the hotel.
  16. I do think that some of the current situation is due to the miscalculation by Celebrity of the staffing needs over time. Maybe no fault of their own. We were on Summit in Nov with 900 crew, 2 weeks ago 600+ crew. On Constellation in Jan with 900 crew and in late March with 900 crew. Celebrity certainly thought that they would be approaching full capacity (80+) at the holidays and through the rest of the Caribbean season. Then Omicron hit and there were heavy cancellations with CwC. Our January sailing has 200 no shows over and above the number the GR manager was expecting to board the day before. On that sailing crew were openly worried about contracts being cut short by a couple of months. I believe that Celebrity purposely scaled back crew levels in Feburary and I guess I can't blame them given the passenger loads. But then they certainly shouldn't allow unbounded bookings now if they are still constraining crew levels. I bet Beyond is at full crew......
  17. My understanding is you were not restricted from moving about the ship. Would you be allowed to go to Oceanview and fix a plate to take back to your room to eat or were you required to use room service? We have started taking 2 phone chargers and 2 tablets. I think it is wise to separate so there is someone on the "outside" to advocate if necessary. Now I also ask for business card of any concierge, guest relations manager, hotel director I may meet. That way I have their direct number if needed.
  18. But that's my point with the middle managers. If they are invisible to the high end suite guests then what are they doing? We don't usually sail in a high end suite but historically would see the suite manager in the Retreat/MC lounge almost daily checking in with all suite guests. The last couple of sailings maybe saw them once. Had friends in a RS and they didn't seem them at all either. On Summit they were down a butler, didn't see the SM pitching in to help out his employees. I do realize they do have some responsibilities that are not customer facing but in my opinion their presence should be detectable by the customer or the job is unnecessary in a customer focused industry.
  19. We were on Summit a few weeks ago for the repositioning from Miami to Cape Liberty. We only had 353 passengers and 600+ crew. They seemed to be struggling with that. As others have said, new and poorly trained staff was noticeable in many high profile places. It was very obvious to me they would really struggle with the 1600+ they were expecting the next sailing and beyond. My other observation is there seems to be an excess of middle management on Celebrity ships. There are all kinds of stripes walking around. I always ask myself "what are they doing to make the passengers trip more enjoyable?" I worked in the IT industry and whenever things were tight those middle management layers were hit hard to preserve the customer facing and R&D jobs.
  20. You topic is going to confuse some people as the Reflection has a top suite called the "Reflection Suite". If possible you might want to change the topic to "Suite perks on the Reflection" Michaels Club. Nice lounge with a large U shape bar. Luminae. Food quality is above MDR, my opinion close to specialty dining venues. Ambiance and service is where this dining room shines. They will also allow you to order off the MDR menu on Reflection if you see things there that you prefer over the Luminae menu. If you have questions about the fancy descriptions on the Luminae menu ask the waiter, they really understand the menu and can guide you. If you have the premium package most Retreat Hosts (butler) will now offer to stock your mini fridge with your favorite soda, water and possibly beer. Even if they don't (it's not an official perk) it's easy enough to stop by a bar on the way to the room and ask for an unopened beverage and that's no problem. Butler is included in the automatic gratuity but I think you will find that many will give extra tip depending on the amount of requests and level of service. Much like you would do with a stateroom attendant.
  21. What you received was what I thought would be fair when I first read you situation. They honored the price you would have got on the day you made the reservation for the cabin which fit your requirements. A little OBC and specialty dining for your inconvenience. Celebrity reps shouldn't be giving incorrect information but I agree with others that there has been enough discussion on IV cabins and the Edge class ships that any TA worth their salt should know the cabin categories. I think the TA should be kicking in more good will since you had to take this into your own hands to resolve. They didn't earn their commission.
  22. Yes, almost always they will load it on your card that you then use to transfer amounts to the machine. One time they printed a ticket which could just be inserted into the machine.
  23. I believe with AI you can't upgrade the drink package online until closer to the sailing. 90 days I believe.
  24. You can also pre-purchase casino credit, either slots or chips with the 10% bonus in your cruise planner. Then when onboard you just go to the cage and they take care of the details.
