  1. What a great trip you have planned with your grandson. Love your blog & posts. Have a fantastic time. Your grandkids are very lucky! I’ll be following along.
  2. They were doing this at YVR (apparently testing it) when I used my nexus to fly to YUL. On my return trip YUL wasn’t doing it. It sure sped up the process at YVR.
  3. That’s great. Glad you got it sorted out.
  4. My guess would be the upgrade of the cabin.
  5. Oh right, I forgot about the excursions. We did that as well with the HIA reservations.
  6. I agree with @Florida_gal_50 that can’t be right. I was quoted just under $700 Cnd per person for a 35 day cruise.
  7. We had the other couple that are cruising with us have our booking numbers joined. I was told to reserve our table, get them to reserve theirs at the same time, then when we get onboard to confirm we have a table for the 4 of us together. I was told this would be automatic but I will be checking once on board.
  8. Lol. Live & learn! Always good to have an idea especially if you don’t have any of the future deposits left like me. I’ll be buying more in November.
  9. WHAT!!! I’ll have to look to compare what we paid, thanks!
  10. It’s on the website now and fun to look!
  11. I just know how to use them after we buy them (as my husband would totally agree and say I book too many!)
  12. I’m never sure if it’s called a FCC or FCD. We buy (when on board) at the minimum a certificate of $100 each to put towards a future cruise. It can be used as a reduced deposit on a cruise. You can buy then book on board with it or wait until home to decide. They expire in 4 years and your money is refunded. I am sure someone with more knowledge on the terminology will hopefully pipe in. So I think FCC is future cruise certificate & FCD is future cruise deposit. Clear as mud, right! Fellow experienced cruisers please help out here!! Yes, I should know the difference by now but…
  13. For us we pay a bit extra for a look back of 7 days for medical. (Remember, we are Canadian so that may make a difference). We get our insurance from the company we used when working and still have them in retirement.
  14. I’m not sure. If I remember I’ll ask in November.
  15. We don’t have any left 😂 will buy more in November on our cruise.
  16. There were a lot complaining about it not be accepted. Only one person on CC got it I think because HAL had a lot of their money already. So you might be persuasive!
  17. Just so you know they would NOT honour the $25 deposit for the 2025 cruise to the SP. We had to put down a large deposit which is refundable. But it was HIA including gratuities plus early booking bonus OBC so we put a deposit down. My thinking was we will love the 2024 cruise we will want to do it again in 2025! Got the cabin we wanted too.
  18. Wish my PCC would give me a heads up! Thanks for the info
  19. I’ve gone a couple times and liked 1 wine only. Wasn’t impressed. @FlaMariner make sure you check your bill. We got charged for it which was reversed but still had to go to guest services about it.
  20. We also haven’t cruised since December 2019. We are going on the Eurodam in November and in the past have loved the ship. I’ll try to remember to post here about our cruise and how the ship is (in our opinion).
  21. Yup. Same here. Can see our statement from 10 years ago. How come they can do that but the App is hit & miss!
  22. Totally agree! We went out with them in the past and they were excellent. Then we contacted them the next year but guess they had a ship in they were doing. Very impressed with their staff.
  23. Great report so far! Thanks for doing this. I’m glad you were already awake when the fire alarm went off at the hotel. Yikes. That’s scary. Glad it was a false alarm. Looking forward to reading more and your photos.
