  1. Yup... I'd say the decision was made to make a run for Vancouver rather than sit idle in an Alaskan port and throw off the entire schedule for the current and next cruise. https://weather.gc.ca/marine/region_e.html?mapID=01
  2. And I'm curious why you think the complaint about slamming doors has ruined somebody's vacation. I haven't seen that sentiment expressed in the discussion. Slamming doors, at least from my perspective, are intrusive, annoying and disruptive. I understand it's going to happen from time to time; it would be considerate of people to try to keep it from happening on a regular basis.
  3. That's good you did not have a problem. It's irrelevant whether you got off the ship in Canada; the problem would have arisen when the ship cleared Canadian immigration.
  4. Pretty noble sentiments, but I wouldn't bother... it just places a burden on Carnival to ensure you don't have a weak moment and enjoy something you've earned by being a loyal customer.
  5. What does any of that have to do with the passport validity period required to travel?
  6. I think you need to say why somebody should have a passport with at least six months validity, and preferably a year.
  7. This Fact Sheet is pretty clear on the requirement(s) for closed-loop cruises: fieldops-whti-fact-sheet.pdf
  8. Pay the additional $20 and take the earlier tour with the idea of taking an earlier train to Civi.
  9. Maybe it's time to find a new cruise line; one with sliding patio doors. Probably have to deal with people who leave that door open and let their cabin door stam.
  10. There are a number of sources but this one is from the NOAA National Weather Service. https://www.weather.gov/ffc/mapslast
  11. September is a bit 'off-season' for sugar bushes, but it certainly can be done. I don't think you're likely to find a nice, neat package/excursion to do this... transportation to/from the sugar shack will be a bit of a challenge. Who know though, maybe this place is willing to make some arrangements if there are enough people interested 8n visiting; they probably have a lot of experience doing that for local schools and retirement homes. https://erabliere-cheminduroy.qc.ca/packages/diner-souper-a-l-annee/
  12. You could consider a taxi to the Fort Lauderdal Tri-Rail station the train to Miami airport. Much less expensive than either of the options you're currently considering and easy to do.
  13. Yes, they do but like cities they are issued a couple of days in advance and for fairly specific areas. I'm sure you can appreciate that the Atlantic between the Canary Islands and somewhere in the Caribbean is a vast area and the weather will depend a lot on where you are and when. Many/most mariners will relay on weather maps; interpret them and do their own forecasting.
  14. 2025.... also, none in YYJ for those two flights to Seattle.
  15. Gotta quibble with you on that.... how about YTZ?
  16. Where did the 'floating petri dish' come from? Seems a tad off-topic.
  17. Can you post a reliable source for this claim?
  18. And here I thought the posts were remarkably close to being on-target compared to digressions I've seen elsewhere.
