Cab fare Port Everglades to Ft. Lauderdale Airport?

We've made the trip between Port Everglades and Ft. Lauderdale Airport more times than I can count but I can't seem to remember what the fare is. Trying to decide whether to take a cab to the airport or arrange for private transportation. There are seven of us traveling together and I can get a van to take us to the airport for $50. I'm guessing two cabs would cost about the same. Anyone know what the current cab fare is? Thanks.

Thanks for the info and for jogging my memory. Now that I think of it, last time we arranged for transportation it was a hassle and a half to find the driver. Guess we'll stick with two cabs.

We have a 7:45 a.m. flight. Will we be able to get a cab at the early hour required to get us to the airport 2 hrs. before flight time? Thanks!

I think the big problem for you will be getting off the ship and to the curb to catch a cab 2 hours before your flight. :(

Last Sunday--Feb 14--we self disembarked from the Allure at terminal 18 walked off the ship at 6:40 ish and were curbside checking luggage just after 7:00 am. Cabs were plentiful.

Cab fare was around $13:00 for a group of four before tip. We just handed the driver a twenty.

As for a 7:45 flight it will depend on your ship arrival and clearance.

No, you won't make it. Earliest flight they recommend is generally around 11:30. People have been known to make 9:30 flights. 7:45 is just a guarantee of failure.

Will you be able to squeeze 7 passengers and all their luggage into only 2 cabs? I'd be looking for a third.

We had 4 in a cab no problem - 5 suitcases - it wasn't even a van, just the normal size cab. But they also have cabs that are vans as well. I see no problem fitting 7 in two cabs.

Let us know what you decide to do with the flight. 745am does seem a little too ambitious--- we've made 10 am easily but as already has been said, I don't believe you'll be off the ship by the time you're supposed to be checked in of your flight.

Perhaps look into cancellation or interruption insurance if you still decide to grab an early flight...

I presume your flight is the next day; nobody would schedule such an early flight on the day they are scheduled to arrive in port. You should ask at your hotel desk, have them arrange a wake up call for you and schedule a cab for whatever time to get you to FLL by 5:45.

We will be getting off Independence on the 23rd and our flight is Southwest at 10:30,if we dont make that flight it will be sit in terminal untill late that day for next non stop to Atl. I am hoping to prebook our luggage while on board and just walk off ship early as possible.

In Oct 2015 we were docked at the port by 6:00, but the ship did not clear customs until 7:15, at which time, we walked off with our luggage, and were one of the first through customs and then transportation to the airport we arrived by 7:45. Don't think it is possible for you to catch your flight.
