DP Posted October 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Is this still the only wine available for Diamond Plus & Diamond evening events?
marci22 Posted October 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2010 They were serving it on the Explorer in July. I've never been served anything else on other ships, but some people have mentioned other brands occasionally.
DP Posted October 25, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 25, 2010 I sure hope it is not La Terra on our Dec cruise.
39august Posted October 25, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2010 It is usually La Terrible, sorry to say.
jljlinda Posted October 25, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2010 It was La Terra on the Freedom three weeks ago.
bajathree Posted October 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2010 It is usually La Terrible, sorry to say. Got to agree....they were serving this on Oasis in the Concierge Lounge...it was so bad that I had to break down and leave to go to Vintages and pay for a decent glass of wine.....maybe that is their game plan. What a shame when you pay big money for a suite and this is what they serve you for a pre-dinner drink in the CL:rolleyes:
Mark_K Posted October 25, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2010 I've found that once you get past the first 3-4 glasses, it starts to taste OK. Or you could do what my wife does and order it as a wine high-ball. The seven up enhances (kills) the flavor pretty well.
DP Posted October 25, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Unfortunately, in the the CL there is no alternative only 'la Terra' !!!

After 3-4 hefty glasses I start to like it:eek:!!
critterchick Posted October 25, 2010 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2010 The CL on Radiance had Danzante Pinot Grigio in April. The La Terre seems to vary from week to week. They must get their grapes from all over. Sometimes the white is ok. The red has always been nasty IMHO.
jjb415 Posted October 25, 2010 #11 Share Posted October 25, 2010 I've found that once you get past the first 3-4 glasses, it starts to taste OK. For me, having no taste really pays off somtimes and it tastes fine after one glass. ;)
publicpersona Posted October 26, 2010 #12 Share Posted October 26, 2010 It is actually La Terre. And in quantity, sells for about $2.50 a bottle.
snowbird1 Posted October 26, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 26, 2010 It is actually La Terre. And in quantity, sells for about $2.50 a bottle. LOL, I always guessed $3.00 a bottle so I was close. BTW, if you drink White Z they have another brand on some ships for sure. I do not drink it but I have seen it, think it might be Beringer White Z. CruiseKeeper Posted October 26, 2010 #14 Share Posted October 26, 2010 For me, having no taste really pays off somtimes and it tastes fine after one glass. ;) Me too. Being a cheap date, one glass kills the taste of the second.
Clarea Posted October 26, 2010 #15 Share Posted October 26, 2010 When you pay $50 per person for the Portofino Mystery Dinner Theater, guess what wine they serve ..... Yes, La Terre!
skandls Posted October 26, 2010 #16 Share Posted October 26, 2010 White La Terre 3 thumbs down, Red one thumb down. I find the white totally undrinkable. The red has to do in a few of the 'occasions' on the ship.
hockeyken Posted October 26, 2010 #17 Share Posted October 26, 2010  This wine is so bad, I wouldn't pour it on a burning cat.....and I like cats. The winery sent a sample to the labs for testing. Two weeks later the reply came back : " Congratulations-your horse is pregnant."

marci22 Posted October 26, 2010 #22 Share Posted October 26, 2010 The champagne is very drinkable. Hic. Yes, it's not bad. When you pay $50 per person for the Portofino Mystery Dinner Theater, guess what wine they serve ..... Yes, La Terre! cruzincurt Posted October 26, 2010 #23 Share Posted October 26, 2010 If I were to pay "big money" for a suite, I probably would not be hoping to save some money drinking house wine or worrying if it was complimentary or not.
