We really lucked out with the Founders status. We signed up and authorized payment for $30 p/p to join. Before the charge hit my credit card, I got an e-mail saying the program had changed but we would still be enrolled as Founders.
Good timing! :)

(Some here would probably be angry at missing out on the $50 pp credit X gave paying members.)

So, under the theories presented on this thread, I will be Elite and reach 10 pts by my next cruise. Does that mean I will be Elite with 300 pts?

Please feel free to comment away on this, as I love speculation!

No one knows for sure yet....but ..I would bet that is what happens.

Unofficially Yes, but it is definitely not set in stone as they are only theories based on a web page that was posted briefly.:D

I must be having a senior moment, or day ,or month but can someone answer this...On RCL I am a Diamond + with over 500 days, on Celebrity I have 11 cruises and am Elite . When this change goes through what will I be on Celebrity. I was under the impression that your status on RCL would be the same level on C. We also joined C's loyalty program back when we had to pay the $15 to join. Help !!:)

I would suspect your RCI status will carry you through at a higher level on X but who knows for sure.:D

The conversion is just the 1 time fix,it has to be base on 1 number or a standard formula.

After the conversion is done, every cruise will be base on the number of days you earned and not number of cruise.

I believe each category cabin will earn a standard points x the number of days cruise.

I hope that is the way it plays out. I think the fairest way to assign the points is to base it on days sailed. It's fine to also add some bonus points that reflect the $$$ spent, as for suites, and onboard spending, but what I think is fundamental is the number of days sailed.

I hope they add points for money bet in the casino :)

Here, here.

I agree, as all my cruises except one have been 14+ days; they need to be when we have to pay air fare .

Will they count the cruises before Captains Club was available?

I have the exact same situation. Under the "old" system we would have 10 points after our 14 day cruise in February 2014 which I chose partially because we would get the two points necessary to make Elite. (This would also make us Diamond on RCI for a cruise in August.) If X counts days as speculated under a "new" system we would come up a few points short of 300. We are nearing final payment and I really hope we are "grandfathered" under the old system.

I would consider it unfair if X changed the rules after we booked.

What do you think?

I agree, We are almost there as well, but we will not know how it exactly effects anyone until they announce it (conversion points) officially.:D

Hi!

I am another one with Founder status. But let's not forget that Celebrity paid back all the membership fees. If you didn't get yours, you might be a little late.

I never got a credit for $100. However, we did receive quite a few vouchers (overcharge for taxes and ?) for another cruise IF booked within a very short period of time. Couldn't use them within the time frame........:(

I'll be kicking myself that I never used my darn card in the slot machines

You should always use your card. I got a certificate for $500 off a cruise, unfortunately I couldn't use it in the time frame they gave me. But the offer was nice.

p.s. I didn't spend that much in the casino.

I totally agree with you...to lower the status of anyone is definitely a situation that implies that it is okay to change the rules and make some people wait for another cruise. I do not think that Celebrity would do that!

Again, these are still only theories and speculation at this point. Change is the currency of life!

So if everyone who's one cruise away from a new level deserves to be grandfathered, why not the people two cruises away? Three? Four? Seven?
