SailingSiggy Posted March 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Information and photo from someone currently on Grandeur says hit by rogue wave. Photo shows damage to Deck 10 with partial collapse onto pool deck. Beyond this post nothing confirmed by me.
Soccrmom65 Posted March 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Not sure of details but according to a clients post of mine a wave hit Grandeur and brought part of deck 10 down on deck 9. Not sure how accurate this is or any other details. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

firestopr Posted March 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) The Deck Chairs are all Still in order in the foreground of the picture. I would assume a rouge Wave would have tussled them a bit if it hit hard enough to have a partial collapse of a hut None the less very scary thing to think about Edited March 26, 2014 by firestopr
Barb Nahoumi Posted March 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Didn't this ship suffer a fire last year?

SailingSiggy Posted March 26, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted March 26, 2014 So is this confirmed? Sent from my phone using Tapatalk 2- Please excuse any errors. Nothing confirmed that I can find and only the one report. I would have never put it up without seeing the picture first. I am positive that a week or so ago someone posted a photo of a large crack in Deck 10 of Grandeur. Either here or on a FB page but I have not been able to go back and find it. Sugar*Magnolia Posted March 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) This has not been confirmed by RCI yet. They have not received any broadcasts about the incident (yet). Can someone confirm what time this supposedly occurred? Edited March 26, 2014 by CruiseDivaNJ
Loyal2RCCL Posted March 26, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 26, 2014 It appears that the cover over the seating area collapsed.. Not the entire deck 10 as someone earlier posted.
Ocean Boy Posted March 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 26, 2014 This has not been confirmed by RCI yet. They have not received any broadcasts about the incident (yet). Considering that RCI was not very forthcoming with this issues plaguing Adventure I'd say RCI's lack of info on this issue means little.

Pomperaugrr Posted March 26, 2014 #23 Share Posted March 26, 2014 I'm sure the RCI executives at the New York Quantum Dining Reveal will be rushing through it to get caught up on the Grandeur damage. Eric

BTW, I think I'm leaving on the Grandeur on Friday. People are speculating that the dark area by the windows below the walking deck (10) is a collapse of the covering on the top of Deck 9. You can also see missing portions of the wood railing both on the inside and outside railings on deck 10.

I suspected that, thanks. :) I've been on the Explorer during a storm that ripped the canopies off the hot tubs and peeled up the pool deck carpeting. I've seen worse but still with a cruise in one day I'm concerned about what other damage you don't see.
