krisko Posted July 27, 2014 #76 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Are we sure this guy isn't American? I thought only in 'Murica could a 5'10" 290lb guy think his weigth is about right and lament the fact that he didn't gain any weight on a cruise. I'm 5'10" and think I'm a bit chunky at 185lb, but then I'm not roaming the ship looking for food at 3am either.

Indiana Airhead Posted July 27, 2014 #78 Share Posted July 27, 2014 15 drinks a day? Are you sure there weren't any pies and you were just looking in the wrong place, like under the table? I like this response. hairymelon Posted July 27, 2014 #79 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Poor Indy gets it in the neck every time on these boards.I know it's just a troll post but I feel sorry for the excellent, hard working staff aboard Indy. They could do without this sort of Tosh. Cheers Davy !!! Completely agree with you. Absolutely love Indy and her hard working crew.
Cindy Posted July 27, 2014 #80 Share Posted July 27, 2014 I, for one, am very thankful for the original post. I can now cross the 3:00 a.m. pizza run off my cruise schedule, thereby freeing up space for other activities.;)

tugboat Posted July 27, 2014 #82 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Hard to know where to start.Complete deterioration in most aspects of this cruise compared to last year. No pies at 3am one night in Sorrentos No lobster No on deck BBQs Shoddy service from head waiter Dinner cold one night I hardly put on any weight despite having the drinks package and consuming on average 12-15 alcoholic drinks a day. I have read all of your fifty post "................ I sure you will be happier on another Cruise Line my I suggest Carnival next time
Rare nbsjcruiser Posted July 27, 2014 #83 Share Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Been on the Indy twice in 2 years. Don't remember seeing an on deck BBQ but that is a good idea. They do it on NCL and its a nice touch. Regardless, I never saw one. No way I'd be up at 3AM to worry about pizza so cant offer an opinion either way on that one. Don't remember seeing lobster served any night but I believe it was a pay for menu item if you wanted it. I live in the lobster capital of the world so lobster is meh, who cares. Dinner cold? Yep, could happen. We had a dinner we didn't care for but that happens once in a while as does a server who might not be up to par. Shouldn't be enough to ruin a cruise I wouldn't think but that's just me. I like to roll with the punches when I'm on vacation. Adayatatime Posted July 27, 2014 #84 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Could someone clarify ..... I'm sure the op said "pie" wasn't available at 3am. Am I assuming you can still get pizza? I'm more of a 4am kind of gal, so maybe its available by then? Also, could I take pie on board? Any ideas what I could hide it in?:D

You apparently completed the cruise, so you had to enjoy something. If you are accustomed to another cruise line, which, given the tone of your critique, seems highly likely, then make the comparison. To do otherwise seems a bit unfair. I am a RCI fan, but have finally recognized that each line is unique and has both strengths and faults. This, and the fact that they cannot please everyone every trip. jayblue RCCL cruiser

jennywren46 Posted July 27, 2014 #91 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Sorrentos closes at 3 am, so I'm sure that's why you didn't get your pie not that I've ever seen them selling pie on any of the four cruises we've done on Indy .

Thought so! He probably didn't realize that after drinking 12-15 drinks a day. Alcohol can affect you for at least 24 hours after it is consumed, so the fact that he spread it out during the day makes no difference. jayblue RCCL cruiser
Sinppu Posted July 27, 2014 #94 Share Posted July 27, 2014 I had a blast on Indy. Never went hungry, thirsty, tired, unloved, poor, wet, cold, hot and all that other stuff you don't want to go when on holiday. I actually won $35 from the casino. A highlight if I ever had one. besberry Posted July 27, 2014 #100 Share Posted July 27, 2014 So somebody wasn't happy about his cruise and as usual all the RCI cheerleaders leap on him, calling him a troll and an obese drunk and all sorts of other things. OK, so some of his complaints seem trivial, but what's trivial to one person may not be to another and vice versa. I was on the Serenade in June and I had a blast, but that was mainly down to the great people I met and the itinerary. The ship was great, but there were lots of little niggles. For me the service just wasn't what I was used to on RCI, the MDR wasn't hitting the mark (½ hour to take our orders?). It won't stop me booking another RCI cruise, but I may well think twice if another line is offering the same itinerary at a similar price. And I think that if you're on the drinks package and it's a sea day, it's perfectly possible to get through 15 drinks a day. I wouldn't want to, but it's possible.
