So what do we think about O's new website?

So the date was February 15th, but the type was black yesterday?

 

 

Mike, I don't know what color it was yesterday - I only took note of the February 15th date. The only choice I had was if I clicked on La Reserv or Prive, then there was a choice to make a reservation. This was not available at all on the Specialty Restaurant page- only a long description of the room categories and when one could make reservations.

Would you be able to email me a screen shot of what it looks like prior to refreshing? And does this now happen every time, or after you refreshed once does it now look OK on subsequent visits?

 

Oh well NTF.... Working fine today...

 

However Cruise search is down..

it was - 25 C this morning up to -22C now

 

Going to be 80 degrees today....

Can you be a bit more specific, as I am unable to reproduce any issues.

 

It is working now.

 

Before if I would search "Your World On Sale" - 0 Cruises came back

 

The find a cruise -- entire search screen would come back white like the Jan or Sirena.

I really like the new website. Great lay-out en much more modern in its look and feel. What i find interesting is that the PH-suite tab with highlights features a lot of amenities that aren't available for that category for example:

 

• Priority 11am ship embarkation with priority luggage delivery (Penthouse Suites board at noon)

• Complimentary in-suite bar setup with 6 full-size bottles of your choice of premium spirits and wines (Not for PH-suites)

• Fresh fruit basket replenished daily (Not for PH-suites)

• Complimentary iPad only in Owner's, Vista and Oceania Suites (not PH?)

• Bulgari gift set (Not for PH)

• Choice of daily printed newspaper (Not for PH)

• Customized entertainment system with integrated sound system and media library (Not in PH as far as i know)

 

Why give this information when you open the Penthouse Suite Highlights when you only get those in the higher suites? Or is it nicer to put it there so the list looks longer ;-)

I have read here on the forum that the Penthouse Suite does not have "Customized entertainment system with integrated sound systems and media library" but on the website it says clearly that they should have, so how is it really?

I thought on the R-class ships the PH got some of those perks ??

 

When you look at the PH for the O class ships it is different description

boarding at noon

Maybe you could point out where you see the above descriptions it may have been just overlooked when setting up the new site

Oh my gosh, the new site to me is a nightmare. I can't get a summary of cruises like I used to. I am comparing a HAL trip in 2016 round trip Boston and looking for an equivalent with O. There is no way for me to find a summary of those cruises that sail round trip from the states.

 

I used to get quite a few brochures with summaries of trips--nothing lately. Now the change in O's website. How discouraging. Hope this changes. Must have a new IT person. Each new one thinks they can do better than the last. ;)

 

Is this still in development or has it been changed permanently?

 

Now I just tried to get into my account. I was persistent and I could get into my account finally but it doesn't show my current cruise booked. I tried to add it, and it tells me the information is invalid. Further we have 16 cruises with O, and it shows N/A. I can't do anything on the site. YIPES. What next??? Guess I had better look for another line, right?

My apologies for trying to add my booking. I had a wrong booking number, but I have the correct one and did, in fact, add the booking to my account. I also found the credit for the 16 trips.

 

I, however, still do not like the site for hunting for future cruises. :p

See post #11 on page 1 about adding your date of birth. Worked for me.

Hi hkjudy - were SellaVee's instructions able to help you figure it out? We have an added layer of security on the new site that requires you to provide additional information in order to access your Oceania Club information - so you need to make sure under Edit Profile all of the necessary fields are populated.

On the old site I never found my previous cruises listed, or an explanation of our current status. All that has been corrected. The To Do list is a nice touch. I definitely prefer this website to the old one. It is easier to use, and much more attractive. Good job, O!

Mike,

A big thank you for your availability to answer questions and guide us through the new website roll out. As I learn, I am liking what I see.

 

My question involves how a payment to account is acknowledged. On the old website, once an online payment was made, within a few minutes I would receive an email from Special Services @ Oceania Cruises, acknowledging the payment. That acknowledgement didn't happen when I made a payment last week. I sent an email to Special Services and was told that there wasn't access to send a payment confirmation when paid on the website, but didn't address that this was once an option on the old website

 

Is this something that will be reinstated as work on the website progresses?

Thanks, Mike - it worked. AND I got a fairly quick response from filling out the form on the website too (that's impressive!). But....I think that there should be a note to this effect on the site itself to tell people of this. I would not normally fill in my birthdate on a form ;)

In the past 24 hours, Mike Moore and I have exchanged twelve e-mails in a bid to solve problems I encountered on the New Web Site.

 

I am sure a lesser IT Specialist would have given up on this old duck, hours ago, but Mike has persevered and eventually we have got there.

 

He is at present trying to find out why the Site insists that I live in Glamorgan, which is in Wales, rather than in Gloucestershire, which is in England! I am sure he will succeed.

 

So thank you, once again, Mike for your tenacity. J

I have also been exchanging emails with Mike. My problem was seeing website prices in $ rather than £. This problem has now been solved. Thank you, Mike.

 

However, my IP address does say I'm in Sheffield, which I'm not. Online investigation has led me to believe that a different UK location is down to the broadband provider, rather than anything to do with the new website.

 

I don't mind seemingly being from Yorkshire, as long as I don't need to say "Eeh bah gum". (With apologies to everyone from the white rose county.) :)
