Vitamin_Sea Posted April 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Lanyards to hold the sea pass card. If they do... Are they free or a fee? Where do I get them? Where do they punch a hole? thanks
granddutchess Posted April 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Not that I have ever seen. I know you can purchase them. Sorry do not know the cost. We bring our own and then have them punch a hole in our sea pass card.
Honeybearhollow Posted April 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2015 They sell them in the gift shop. Hole is punched at Guest Relations. Some of them are pricey. Buy them before you get on the ship. They will be a lot cheaper.

Nanatravel Posted April 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2015 OK thanks.. i will buy a couple I know Carnival gives people free ones in the casino. I just checked in the Gift Shop on the EQ and lanyards had gone up considerably to $9.95 for fancy ones for ladies. Did not price out just Celebrity brand. Cruise Critic has them for $7.95 why not show your loyalty? Guest Relations will punch a hole in your card if you don't have the plastic ID holder. GuinnessGal Posted April 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2015 They have these fabulous ones which we won (by participating in a couple of Celebrity Life Activities - you gain points if you/your team wins an activity, you trade in your points for items). There's even a little zippered pocket on the back - handy for those gelato coupons :)
phillygirl2400 Posted April 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Bought a rhinestone lanyard on board the Summit last year. Price was around $10. Used it on one cruise and the rhinestones started to fall off. Don't buy the one with rhinestones. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

TeaBag Posted April 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) I have the same one as GuinessGal. I love it. Thanks for the tip for the gelato coupons. I think I won mine too but I have had it for so long, I don't remember how. I have seen lanyards in the gift store too. sasset Posted April 30, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Can someone explain the deal with the lanyards? They don't seem long enough to open the door, don't look like they would work at the Martini Bar or any venue where they have to take your card for a bit. If on deck, when windy, they seem like they would smack you in the face. Edited April 30, 2015 by sasset

If on deck, when windy, they seem like they would smack you in the face. I bought a lanyard from a shop on board. This was after I had my sea pass stooped working twice due to being near my Iphone. It was a hassle to go get another one at Guest Relations. While on board I do not use a purse and use my cellphone to take pictures. The lanyard has a clip which goes through the punch hole in my sea pass. I do not use the plastic thingy.
doublemm16 Posted April 30, 2015 #13 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Bought a rhinestone lanyard on board the Summit last year. Price was around $10. Used it on one cruise and the rhinestones started to fall off. Don't buy the one with rhinestones. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I have purchased several of those over the years from land based stores and had the same problem. I finally gave up and switched to a leather coach lanyard from the outlet. I love it! :D

I just got it out and the rhinestones were popping off all over. That went in the garbage! Oh well! I guess they are a one cruise and done kind of item. gimletgal Posted April 30, 2015 #16 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Can someone explain the deal with the lanyards? They don't seem long enough to open the door, don't look like they would work at the Martini Bar or any venue where they have to take your card for a bit. If on deck, when windy, they seem like they would smack you in the face. Here is a photo of the basic Celebrity lanyard. This particular one I have been using for 9 years and is sold in the Emporium. The card easily detaches by pressing the sides of the connector so that you can hand it to a bartender/bar waiter etc. when they need to swipe it. You never need to remove the card from the ring it is attached to. Guest Relations will punch a hole in the card for you. I always detach mine to enter my cabin, but it will also work (still attached) if you just bend over a bit! :): If you are outside, and it is windy, just tuck it inside your shirt or pocket on your shirt. kenevenpar Posted April 30, 2015 #19 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I'm glad us gentlemen have pockets and don't have to worry about these. Of course DW doesn't particularly care for them either. She is also glad I have pockets :D

Definitely awesome, although the "tang"on the zipper broke off, I can still use the zipper. It's great for when you need to take your license and some cash along with your seapass card off the boat.
