What happens if you share a drink package? Is there a drink limit?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

just one question. We already bought the ultimate package for my wife and myself. As far as I know it's only allowed to order one drink per time. Will it be possible to get a drink for myself and another one for my wife (maybe be showing both sea pass cards)? Or will it be necessary that we always show up together at a bar in order to get 2 drinks?

BR

Mike

one person with both cards is more than welcome to grab two drinks. I fully intend to make my husband do that for me eheheheh

Question for those that are calling the op a thief, do you smuggle booze? Do you go in every thread about smuggling booze and berate that person for breaking the rules? Just curious being they are very clear that bringing your own alcohol is not allowed. Or is it only the no sharing rule that matters? Do we get to pick what rules we want to follow and what rules we want to yell at other people for breaking?

I follow stated policy. ALL OF THEM dress code, I limit myself to the 2 750.ML bottles of wine. I do not try and bring on bottled water or my favoritte cans of soda or bring an iron on board or try and sneak into the Diamond lounge with my Gold Suite SeaPass card since I am only Emerald. I do not sneak friends into the CL if they are not D+ or in a suite.

we also have never cheated on our taxes, have never been more than 5 miles over the stated speed limit( and and when it is 65, he's usually at 62 with the cruise control) have never stolen anything, smoked so much as a cigarette let alone an illegal substance

I feel quite justified in calling people out. the word ethics has been bandied about. I prefer the Term Integrity. you either have it, or you don't. in ALL things

So this means that it is ok to shoplift (or share individual drink packages In this case)? Really?

They never said that. Nothing close to that. They only said that costs for a certain amount of loss are built into many products; drink packages on cruises being among them. That's not an endorsement to violate the terms and conditions.

Yes. It is smoother if both of you are there the first time so the bartender knows you, but Yes, you can take the two cards and get two drinks. Been there, done that many times.

Royal, like every other for-profit, bases it's price on what the market will bear. If all sharing stopped tomorrow, Royal's profits would increase and the cost of the package would not go down one cent.

You say that as if it is wrong....

Stealing is kind of wrong... Ok, you get that right... O never mind you are from Jersey stealing is a right.

just saying...

The key to safe driving is everyone driving close to the same speed if you are doing 62 in a 65 you are about 20% below average, which means you are a hazard for everyone else on the freeway...

Good luck

Americans (USA!) make me laugh!!

Have a drink on someone else's drinks package? My God, surely not, what a heinous crime. Thief - you'll be disembarked, thrown in jail, disembowelled etc etc

Take an iron onboard? WHAT! Starting a fire and sinking the ship, electricity overload. Never allowed to sail again.

Allow anyone to carry a gun (not on the ship!)? Yeah no problem, it's "our" right.

Ha ha.

Actually, in the USA for non felons and USA citiizens owning a gun is a right (depending on the type, etc.)... I think it is pretty silly comparing owning a gun to stealing. Guns pretty much protect people who own things, (AKA not socialists:D) to protect their property.

Seriously, you thought that was a cogent arguement???

Enjoy your gunless prison....

If you share a drink package, you will die.

If you eat carrots you will die... It is statistically 100% that at some point everyone who has eaten a carrot has or will died.

Didn't read all of the posts but can report this....a coworker just returned from Freedom. Her husband had the drink package and she didn't. He ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and didn't like how it was made...handed it off to her. Shortly thereafter, bartender asked her if she had the package. When she said no and explained she was only drinking the drink her husband didn't like, they were not sympathetic. They took the drink from her, poured it out and shut her husband off for the rest of the night.

About time someone from the cruise line shows a little backbone and enforces the rules they have in place.

Thanks for the explaining my little implied joke to me. I get it now. :D

I'm worried now, though, because I've eaten a lot of carrots. Can you tell me when I "will died"?

Not sure I understand the logic here give that semis and cars with trailers, at least in California, are required to go 55 in a 65 MPH zone. In addition, this isn't a citadel offense, which I think it would be if it were as dangerous as you suggest. Also, it's far from being a 20% difference.

While I agree that traffic would flow more smoothly if everyone went the same speed, this is never going to happen as people allow their self-interests to dictate their behavior, which is ultimately the basis of many questions here on CC regarding dress codes, tipping, sharing of drink packages, etc. I applaude those that ask, though, as it suggests that many want to follow the rules unless they asking how to avoid getting caught.

I was just reading on another site where someone was trying to justify the 87mph they were doing in a 65 zone (and got a ticket for) as moving with the flow of traffic

The correct answer when you get pulled for that, and the policeman says he doesn't see any other cars doing that speed is to reply "Ah sure look, they've all got away from me now" ;)

Yeah, what xpc.... said about the key being everyone going about the same speed is not really true. But I'm not one to strictly abide by speed limits. Unless there is bad weather or traffic is backed up, I'll generally treat the speed limit more like a minimum. :) But I don't go much over, maybe 5 mph or so. And, at that speed, it's not unusual to have police passing me.

So, I see that sort of like some of the stories I hear from people taking a case of water onboard, by putting a luggage tag on it and having it delivered to the room. If you can do it openly, and the "authorities" don't really mind, it's not quite the same as trying to work the system to get away with something.

BTW that's approx $1600 U.S.

When it's just the 2 of us with freshly squeezed OJ at breakfast, a nice latte mid morning, couple of beers over lunch and a glass of wine or two, a cocktail or three in the afternoon, a pre dinner martini and a couple of glasses of good wine with dinner ..... and finally a drink or two in theatre or in bar after dinner plus several bottles of water in between ...... Add that up and even at full price the drinks package works for us ...... and if it's just a $15 pp per night upgrade to premium from a free (built in) select package it's a no brainer !!

Agree with this on recent trip we upgraded from included select package to premium and typical day was bellini about 10am, a few frozen cocktails during day, couple of glasses of red with dinner and another cocktail or two in evening. Certainly got my moneys worth.

Will be upgrading for summer break too and even though its port intensive it is still worthwhile as just 2 cocktails is more than upgrade cost.

Best case scenario would be you both get a drink thus defrauding RCCL and all other honest paying guests making cruising that bit more expensive for us all by your theft. Worst case scenario, your husbands drinks package gets revoked without any reimbursement. Personally, I hope the latter is what happens. So many people here complain about the cruise industry nickel and diming their customers; is it any wonder when there's the kind of dishonesty you're advocating ...

Oh for heaven's sake. The OP asked a question. She didn't kill the Pope. Others who answered stated simply that it is an issue and not allowed.

I read the post as she is trying to find out if it is allowable, not that she is planning to defraud and steal from the ship. Now that she knows, she won't do it.

Good gracious people, you act like someone just put on these boards that they are going to commit a heinous murder.
