Thrak Posted July 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Bummer about the BOGO but it's still a much better deal than paying full price for all drinks. With a 17 day cruise coming up the BOGO will definitely save me a bit of money and I still plan to take advantage of it even with the change. JF - retired RRT Posted July 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2015 OK...don't laugh.;) We don't drink much and have never tried the BOGO. I just had a thought... If you buy a BOGO, do you pay the grat on both or one? If you buy the BOGO for $1...do you pay the grat on both? I am guessing yes on the $1 deal??? No idea on the BOGO. bhopal21 Posted July 29, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 29, 2015 So, if you get the BOGO for $1. The grat is 15 cents? Should be, since any bar purchase will generate a gratuity. Mike:)

Supposed to be at least a partial on April, I believe.:)

Belle Posted August 2, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Strawberries Free on Elite menu on Golden July 21st to 31st 2015. Don't know how long will last or what other SHIPS it's on or not! Know some didn't have them anymore. Remember on the buy one get one for a dollar the two have to be the same drink. Can be for any drink under $10.00 The drinks in Skywalkers for Plat, Elite and Suite at 5 pm to 7 pm still $ 5.00. Still serve food. If you like seafood will be in heaven. Had more seafood than any cruise I've been on and I've been on a lot. Had all kinds of Fish plus Lobster, Shrimp, Crab Legs ect. Even at the grill some days..Crab Cakes, Fish Tacos and a Fish Sandwich. Plus all the Beef dishes were very tender in MDR and the Crown. Casino..When in dry dock they changed the slots to suit the passengers of Australia and New Zealand When the Golden leaves us on Sept. 19th. I didn't like them. Others didn't either but some people did win on them.

On the Crown to Alaska in July, no more free strawberries either. You can still get them for a fee from room service. THANK YOU! I'll make a note to allow extra in my budget-according to my budget costing notes from the Princess website, strawberries are USD$8 a serve. Budgeting on USD$1 = AUD$1.40 I must allow $$11.60 a night for the strawberries, and AUS$18.20 for the chilled shrimp. No hardship, as I am rather fond of both treats. I am saving for the estimated costs from smallest to largest amount, so I can SEE savings goals being regularly achieved!

Belle Posted August 3, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted August 3, 2015 Mic..no they didn't pay to well. Tight. One person won twice on the same machine. Was the lucky one. Maybe you'll be the lucky one! I thought we all liked the same kinds of slot machines but there was only about 5 that were ones that use to be on and only had about 5 or 6 poker machines. Rest all new ones, games I hadn't seen before. I play the card games and them play the slots, this time after cards just played the poker machines.. they weren't paying either. Plus didn't get the $10.00 you get for playing 1000 points. They didn't give any of the perks that they use to. Still had fun with dealers and people. (same people always play each night, some of them even daytime)

hopestotravelmore Posted August 16, 2015 #24 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Hi all, I am new to cruising and have a silly question to ask. Are the live theatre production shows the same each night on my 13 day New Zealand cruise? So if I go to a show one night, and then again two nights later, is it the same show? Thanks Maureen
Astro Flyer Posted August 16, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Hi all, I am new to cruising and have a silly question to ask. Are the live theatre production shows the same each night on my 13 day New Zealand cruise? So if I go to a show one night, and then again two nights later, is it the same show? Thanks Maureen There are no silly questions! ;) Production shows are performed once per cruise including on our 17-day transatlantic cruise in April which had 4 production shows. Once in a while I've had a production show on consecutive nights to give all passengers a better opportunity to attend the shows. Sometimes singers & comedians have performed on multiple nights however they were different shows. Also on longer cruises they sometimes replace guest entertainers but usually the same production show performers who remain on ships for months at a time. In some ports they bring on local folkloric shows like when in Auckland we had Maori performers. Edited August 16, 2015 by Astro Flyer
