OMG! I Booked A Cruise Solo

Yesterday I received an email offer that was too good to be true. I just got off the phone with HAL and it is true. :D

I just booked the 47 day Tales of The South Pacific and all I have to pay is taxes, port fees and HSC. The cabin is free. Yeah, really gratis. It's a casino offer. I couldn't pass this up. Seriously, a 47 day cruise for a total of $757.51!!! I can even take a guest if I choose. And that price includes insurance. I know it is gauche to speak about pricing but hey, this is amazing.

It is like a small miracle for me as I never thought I would get the opportunity to take Virgil's ashes to Bora Bora as he wanted but saved some in case. Now I can. :)

I am so excited and somewhat intimidated as I've never cruised alone - but hey world here I come!

This qualifies as the best post I have ever read, on any chat board, anywhere on the internet :D

Kakalina, what an amazing blessing from the universe. So very happy for you for this "small miracle".

Of course you feel somewhat intimidated. That is perfectly normal. You will have your "moments", just like in real life. But those "moments" won't define either the cruise or you <3

Wishing you a wonderful journey!

Trisha, I don't know you, but I am thrilled for you. It will be a special time and a special cruise.

I will follow your postings as I, too, will be taking my husband's ashes to the Caribbean on HAL in March with our daughters' families.

Bless you. Watch for that special rainbow.

Thanks for all your good wishes. It will be a bit bittersweet, but I am planning to soothe my soul and replenish my well being with salt air, HAL service and some good food.

Got out the suitcases and can't wait to pick up my passport from the safe deposit box. I am really looking forward to having a reason to get up each morning.

I will have lots of free time so I will keep a journal and post a big review when I get back. I most likely won't be doing many tours or such. That's not why I am going. Some beach and snorkel time for sure.

I found I took private time in the fresh sea air and that quiet, alone time at sea was very restorative. I hope it is for you, as well. :) Bring along a favorite photo of you two together. That helped me a lot on some of those 'down times'.

I could not be happier for you. :)

Wonderful! You so deserve this. Your quiet dignity throughout has been an inspiration and I think you captured all our hearts. Now kick back and enjoy the planning and we can look forward to the review.:D

Oh, Trisha. I'm sooooo happy for you! Now I understand why you wrote, "I believe in miracles". You deserve this! And, you know Virgil will be right there with you. It's happening so soon, too. You barely have time to pack your bags! Enjoy that salt air!
