Why does Port Canaveral get the old ships?

It's good to have choices, but flying into FLL for a Miami cruise or vice versa negates any of the inconvenience of flying into Orlando for a PC cruise.

I regularly get from PC to MCO in less than 40 minutes.

Also, are you aware MCO is spending almost 2 billion USD on a new South terminal. And another 1 billion on a train station. And it's already the biggest airport by passengers in all of FL.

I guess in a couple years you can fly into Orlando and take the train to Miami.

Finally, Orlando is second to Vegas in terms of hotel rooms.

Glad to see another Floridian agrees with some of what I posted.

Beach lovers should love Cocoa Beach and there are many oceanfront options quite close to Port. Also, some quite good more affordable restaurants too.

For those of us who drive to cruise PC or Tampa are better choices. Just wish Celebrity sailed out of these ports as we much prefer Celebrity. Royal will be very enjoyable too

I will wonder with you. Even if RC has one specific ship in mind, they are likely to change their minds between now and sometime in 2018 I think it is?

The terminal is supposed to open in Fall 2018. However, technically, that would mean itineraries are due out in the next deployment release (Spring 2017).

Make it 24 and you can throw in the whole east Coast and Southern Ontario. Toronto to PC in 22 hours, I could do it in less but they make me stop for bathroom breaks.:D

And to visit with friends sometimes:):)

Oh yeah, that was a bathroom break as well

Celebrity could take the Saturday slot at T1. It's just sitting except for day trippers

Im surprised they still have Port Canveral. Why does a cruise line need 4 departure ports in Florida?

They don't seem to have a problem filling ships out of all of them, and they are all growing.

I'm happy they have multiple ports... Imagine if they only had a few. Airfare and Hotels would be even more then they are now. (I'm sure the folks from Northern Florida are quite happy as well).

Oh John...you are making me nervous. I am on (or at least booked and paid for

anyway ;)) Rhapsody for the first time next month.

Oh, you'll be fine. I think it's on it's way to Miami as we speak. :D

Oops, still in Cadiz, should be leaving on Friday and headed to Miami on Saturday

Still curious to know what she is doing from 12/1 to 12/3 before she arrives

in Tampa.

She will be sailing. It's too far to make it from Miami to Tampa in one day.

Miami to Tampa is about 440 nautical miles. At 15 knots it's about 29 hours and at 20 knots it would be 22 hours. She has to arrive, clear customs and debark passengers. Even at 20 knots and leaving at noon she would only get in at around noon the next day which would be to late to load supplies and sail the next day. She will have a leisurely cruise and save some fuel on the way to her new home.

Thanks John. That was what I was curious about. Is it a crew party cruise (non

revenue) from Miami to Tampa or a revenue mini cruise?

Or perhaps big wigs from Miami on a "meeting"? ;)

If you look on the RCI website it shows boarding in Europe (Malaga Spain) not until

the 19th (this Saturday) and showing up in Miami on the 1st of December.

Is this different from what you have?

First revenue 7 night cruise out of Tampa is the 3rd.
