datolim Posted April 26, 2017 #26 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Any information on RC testing their technology on quantum ships where they have bubbles of air under the hull so their ship is actually riding on a cushion of air. Is it successful or have they abandon it.

Robo1098 Posted April 26, 2017 #29 Share Posted April 26, 2017 They didn't really test it. It was new tested technology. It was efficient to utilize it. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
tha-paul Posted April 26, 2017 #30 Share Posted April 26, 2017 As far as I know, this technology is already in use at quantum class ships.

Since Quantum all newbuilts do have this technology. steamboats

Biker19 Posted September 30, 2017 #39 Share Posted September 30, 2017 ^ I think the last leak was the one that said Q4 and 5 would be named Passion and Pulse. This one could be just as wrong.

Rare steamboats Posted September 30, 2017 #41 Share Posted September 30, 2017 The Quantum Class started out as project sunshine. So I don´t think it´s a leak but just someone using the project name to fool us all ;-). steamboats

Rare steamboats Posted November 8, 2017 #43 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Don´t get confused... steel cutting was at Meyer Werft in Papenburg. Keel laying was today in Warnemünde at Neptun Werft (which is owned by Meyer too). Why? Neptun is building the engine room blocks. A couple of weeks ago they delivered the first part of the LNG powered ship AIDAnova to Papenburg. This was a "block" sort of half of the hull down by the keel. So as Spectrum is supposed to become LNG powered too I think they are doing the same. They build the LNG engine room section in Warnemünde and then ship it through the Kiel Canal to Papenburg. steamboats
