clskinsfan Posted March 16, 2017 #26 Share Posted March 16, 2017 It looks like Spice will be at the bow of the ship? Looks like a big blank (white) video screen on the top deck forward.
Rare eroller Posted March 16, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 16, 2017 The aft infinity pool: According to the NCL press release the infinity pools will be on a lower deck. I'm thinking aft and on the rounded lower deck. This is where MSC SEASIDE has a full size pool. Also NCL states "infinity pools", so more than one. This leads me to believe they are probably something like 4 oversized jacuzzis. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
FreestyleNovice Posted March 16, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 16, 2017 the pics are different, on an other there is no infinity pool . are there balcony on the top of the bridge? or an outdoor area? Renders are often blanked out to keep some features out of sight of the competition and also to keep a new ship newsworthy. :) Here's the bridge part, looks like glass covered/enclosed balconies above the bridge deck. Those below seem to have a partial glass structure:
FreestyleNovice Posted March 16, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Very nice investigative work, FreestyleNovice. I'm sure once the ship gets closer to launch it will look very different with hull art and a nest of colorful waterslides and ropes courses. surrounding the funnel. Thanks! Yes, would be interesting to see that! Already spotted another area of interest, aft waterfront deck where there's an unlogical cut out with a large box structure on/near the lifeboat. Could be anything! :D;p
Cruising Greek Posted March 16, 2017 #30 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Looks nice and sleek. Judging from only the current renderings, it seems like they are going for a more upscale look with this build. For me and my Wife, we would like this. However, my kids are asking where the water slides are that they love so much, lol Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app
FreestyleNovice Posted March 16, 2017 #31 Share Posted March 16, 2017 In the lower right corner there appears to be a black square, perhaps a window IF it's the same box because that render has a different oceanview window setup on the lower part there.. :) Otherwise it might be some outdoors-ish attraction or a Celebrity Edge Magic Carpet mini platform? Heh! ;)
Two Wheels Only Posted March 16, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Otherwise it might be some outdoors-ish attraction or a Celebrity Edge Magic Carpet mini platform? Heh! ;) There are some aspects of Celebrity Edge that are interesting but also raise more questions. For example, what happens in an infinite veranda stateroom when someone opens the door? Mini hurricane? As much as they are promoting the Magic Carpet, how many people will actually get to experience it?

If you're worried about wind you can close off the cabin from the balcony area with French doors. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Two Wheels Only Posted March 17, 2017 #34 Share Posted March 17, 2017 ...you can close off the cabin from the balcony area with French doors. I just saw a video and saw the French doors. I hadn't seen them before. ;)
Rare eroller Posted March 17, 2017 #35 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Regarding the Magic Carpet, people said the same thing when Royal Caribbean introduced attractions like iFly, Flowrider, Northstar, and zip lines. I've enjoyed them all. It seems to work out. During the course of a cruise people that want to experience it usually can, at least from my experience. Heh! ;) Hard to say. It could just be storage for one of the large inflatable life rafts with escape shoot or perhaps something else? I don't anticipate NCL doing anything to the extent of the Magic Carpet. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
London-Calling Posted March 17, 2017 #37 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I was going to say that Leonardo's interiors would be very different to Seaside's as they will have to accommodate multiple restaurants for NCL' s 'Freestyle' dining system. Then I looked at Seaview's deck plans! The plans look like an NCL ship already. Seaview has loads of dining rooms. I bet NCL only have to change the room décor and branding, in most cases. The expansive prom deck is a ready made 'Waterfront' on steroids. I now see the attraction for NCL of buying this design. I wonder what Leoando will give us that Breakaway+ does not, apart from bigger prom deck/deck space?
pspercy Posted March 18, 2017 #38 Share Posted March 18, 2017 - - - - I do love the bow on Project Leonardo though. I know a lot of people don't like that bow design, but it really appeals to me. AIDA PRIMA, CELEBRITY EDGE, and the new LNG powered ships from Carnival Corp. have a similar bow design. Looks like the bow on WW1 battleships:)
Knobhdy Posted March 18, 2017 #39 Share Posted March 18, 2017 I wonder what Leoando will give us that Breakaway+ does not, apart from bigger prom deck/deck space? One thing they'll give us is fewer passengers on each ship. The capacity is lower than the Away and Away+ ships. In my opinion, that'll be nice. RMS Olympic Posted March 18, 2017 #40 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Fewer passengers but if NCL continues its habit of overloading their ships through friends sail free promotions it will stay crowded. The Escape supposedly takes @ 4200 passengers, on my sailing it was 5200. You add 1000 passengers and forget deck space, forget elevators....and watch the mess in the buffet for lunch. I will admit the crew handled the mad house fantastically.
Rare eroller Posted March 18, 2017 #41 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Too many people on ESCAPE, a ship just not designed that well. Give me the Oasis Class any day. Handles 5000+ pax like a charm. Just designed so well from top to bottom. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare eroller Posted March 18, 2017 #43 Share Posted March 18, 2017 I think it looks gorgeous !! I love the look as well, but then again I also love how MSC SEASIDE looks so no surprise. Very similar and off the same platform.

deliver42 Posted March 19, 2017 #48 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Now, instead of being innovative, NCL can be called MSC Light.
volk904 Posted March 19, 2017 #49 Share Posted March 19, 2017 I think the Escape has a good design but ncl should have included another pool other than that the waterfront is great. Surprised to not see some version on this ship. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Son of a son of a ... Posted March 19, 2017 #50 Share Posted March 19, 2017 Freestyle - many thanks for your contributions re: pics! Volk - not sure if I speak for anyone other than DW & I, but we enjoy the sun on deck and have little interest in a pool as we enjoy our water sports in port.
