Perks of suite compared to balcony on diamond level

Recommended Posts

Sailed in suites multiple times. My experience is the escort off varies by port. In some cases it was to the front on the disembarkation line not customs line, in others it was just you were the first tag called, and only once was there special treatment in the customs line

This has been our experience as well.

Another perk in GS is the free internet which means not keeping up with minutes used. Also reserved seating in the theater.

Free internet is only for Sky/Star class suites on Oasis and Quantum class. Not on Serenade.

Same here. Never any special treatment for Customs Line.

You need to buy more stuff then. ;p

FWIW, if you have the red tickets, your luggage is in a separate area, and you have a dedicated line to customs. You may not go all the way to the front because there are other red tickets folks in front of you. Wasn't it that way on Serenade for you?

I believe we had a special suite line at Port Everglades once, must have been terminal 18. Our luggage tags said "Suite/Pinnacle" and once they saw that, they moved us to a different line.

We have been escorted to our bag claim area but shared the same Custom Line with others.

There wasn't much of a line at Customs when we're were escorted off the ship. Best escort we have ever received was off Serenade. They held up other cruisers so we could precede to our bags. I think this probably more to do with the Concierge, Mario Reyes. He was the best.

So we're just given the code when we check in? We're sailing on Oasis for the first time in Oct and we're in a GS.

Either at check-in or in the stateroom, happened both ways for us.

Agree that it depends on the port.

Our last time out of Miami (NAV for Christmas + NY) the Concierge was not permitted to leave the ship at all. There was virtually no special disembarkation treatment for anyone.

It was kind of a joke, really. We all met in the Concierge Lounge, thinking we were getting a special disembark only to find that the Concierge led us all to the back of the line where everyone else was getting off the ship. What a waste of time ! Our bags were on the ginormous carousel with everyone else's; it was a complete charlie foxtrot. The special red tags got us absolutely nothing !

Concierge on Liberty somehow messed up the normally great disembarkation yesterday , we somehow came after groups 2 and 3 and did not get off till 10am ( was always off by 9am in past) hope we never have to deal with him again.

We met Jorge in the Schooner Bar and were escorted off at 8:30 just after the self-assist passengers on May 14. A couple tried to "crash" the line and were turned away when they didn't have a gold card to "ding" off the ship.

My sister had mechanical problems with her truck and was waiting to disembark later to be sure her secretary had driven down with a new truck. So she was the very last red tag to go down and pick up her luggage, indeed in a special area. Porter was waiting for her, with her luggage on a cart, then escorted her to the special line straight to customs.

Then she still had to wait for her sister to show up at the parking lot since I was not in a GS...OR a Painacle ;) (I was in the long...long

line for customs clearance :().

Dont rule out the larger suites, if you can find very good cruise buddies to split the Presidential Suite with you, it might be within your grasp. Our share of the fare on LIberty next year is about what we paid for a balcony on Radiance to Alaska.

Our GS on Vision is less than $2000 even though its just a 5 day, we decided it was now or never.
