So is the basketball court and surf simulator now on deck 16? Plus the area of deck 16 aft under the loft area seems to be now open according to those photos. It's a total change in the Windjammer for sure.

Yes they are on deck 16.

Now as for the playground concepts... we have an update. 🤔

Loyal To Royal managed to contact 100architects, and...

I said this a while ago but once we saw the GT and passenger counts increase substantially for Icon class  as well as the one comment from Nick Weir about having designers for the Icon class on board to see the Aquashow that the Icon class is just a redesign of the Oasis class much as the Freedom class was a redesign of the Voyageur class.  This is just one more piece that confirms my suspicions.

Interesting theory, it's hard to imagine creating a different design for a similar GT class of ship. I think you might be on to something. Although if you are right, I would have expected more of a change then what we know so far.

Assuming that we're seeing a Wonder of the Seas concept and I know it's just a rendering,  but am I seeing a slanted wall above the shorter windows at the end?

By the way, this is where the ship name usually is located, but from an earlier post that we've seen, the name is shifted lower down to right at the lower lip.

That slant /angle is possible.

And yes the ship name is on that lower piece of wall, at the bottom of the 'bridge'. That wall is further back under the overhang* that you see at the top of right hand photo.

* which I think I'll dare to call 'the aft part of the Windjammer' overhang 😳

Ugh. I'm a visual person. I see a drawing coming on my behalf.  😜

Very interesting observation and point Ken. To me the Oasis class had set the high bar for cruise ships thus far. To top it (if that is part of the intent), they have to build on its successes and elevate it to the next lWow evel.

No surprise,  but I've confirmed that the

Infamous Windjammer is indeed the venue taking up the space on both starboard & port side of deck 15 (under the basketball court and potential larger playground), partially under the loft suites area, and a wee bit at the other end under the Tidal Bar. There's three walls of windows facing down into the Boardwalk (as seen in drawing below).

There may be a 4th wall of windows below the railing near Tidal Bar, but not sure.

An idea of what the Windjammer is like at the aft end. 98.7% certain. As for the other end, I don't know how far forward it goes (under the loft suite area). 🙄

Ah. Good idea to be able to transit from one side to the other at this end as well like in other Windjammers. 👍

So did you get artsy and  show off the overhang chage, etc. ?

Yes, but my drawing skills are lacking. Not able to show good perspective and what not.

Anyhow, I had fun with it, using an old Oasis promotion image to boot! And besides it's raining here in Ottawa, so I couldn't go for my run or do yard work.

This was a good alternative. 😁

😂

Looks great to me. You can almost make out the slant in the border between deck 15 and 16 above the (wrong) ship name. 😂

This stuff reminds me of early ship builds we followed. You're still mad as a hatter.

Great work Lloyd. I would guess that this windjammer could/should be bigger and more open than the other sister ships. Putting into consideration the whole idea of social distancing they may have had to make some adjustments/changes to Wonder.

That's a strange looking block for the front of the loft suites. Maybe because we are are not seeing the whole thing.

No kidding.

I'm wondering if the unfinished square area will contain a screen or display like the Edge-class has on its pool deck.

A screen it is.

Solarium!? Same as Symphony?

Looks to be the same. Only familiar with Wonder's deck 15 area.

There's something pool-ish (more pool or pond or tiers?) in front of the center pool, and...I think there's a bar where the port side  cantilever pool should be. Ya. I  know.

Ur? One FlowRider.

One cantilevered pool.

There are still 3 azipods, right?

I wonder what will be in those triangles?
Could be a liquid crystal screens that can go from clear to a video screen.

Unlike on the other ships it will be wind proof as partof this Oasis Ship to be consiered as a cold weather ship and will be some kind of glass construction and likely colorfull.

The artist impressions suggest it emits light.
I’m thinking the facade at the back maybe a liquid crystal screen.when not active would be clear.

2022!

This thread was started in 2017!

I've had <fill in the blank> that didn't last this long!!

2017!!!

I've had tv-watching binges that didn't last this long!!

From someone on FB: My contact in the shipyard says Wonder is expected to be handed over to Royal for sea trials in December 2021, with a planned first sailing in late January/February 2022
