Fancypants! Posted June 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I was off the ship on Sunday and it is now Wednesday and I'm still rocking back and forth in my chair. :p
Clarea Posted June 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Used to take a week or so. Sadly, it does not happen anymore except after transatlantic cruises.
voyager70 Posted June 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Used to take a week or so. Sadly, it does not happen anymore except after transatlantic cruises. Interesting, doesn't happen to me anymore either. Maybe a TA is the answer! Used to take me several days at least.
reallyitsmema Posted June 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I usually am still swaying for a few days but worse was two weeks. Depends on the time of year and if it is allergy season. It also seems to make a difference whether I had to fly to the port or was able to drive. An antihistamine makes a difference for me.
Ocean Dancer Posted June 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I've swayed up to a week. I has to do with your balance. Your brain has to adjust to being back on land.
MiniChunks Posted June 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I love the post-cruise sway. I'm usually good after a few days, but I havent been on anything longer than 7 nighters in a long time. If Bob is still swaying after a TA, I can't wait to see what happens to me after my first on Jewel next year!

kknorr0320 Posted June 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I haven't had it the last several cruises but it used to be 2 or 3 days. Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

waterlegs Posted June 7, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I was surprised to experience swaying at all and had it ,only when I sat, for about a week. During the cruise we felt no sway until the last day.
fabby50 Posted June 7, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Only happened to me after our first cruise - mostly when my eyes were closed (like in the shower). My husband still gets it if the cruise was particularly rocky - it will last up to a week. He does have ear problems.

Rare BecciBoo Posted June 7, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 7, 2017 I never had that feeling, but DH has it every time for about a week. Neither of us ever get nausea.

Greenmomma Posted June 8, 2017 #22 Share Posted June 8, 2017 No problem on the ship, no problem off the ship. Had one really bad seasickness event on a fishing boat many, many years ago. Not once, not ever after that.
RN4Nsy Posted June 8, 2017 #23 Share Posted June 8, 2017 I do for several days afterwards. I don't get seasick ever. However when I get home I need meds because I have it then.
Sasksilver Posted June 8, 2017 #24 Share Posted June 8, 2017 I've never been sea sick, but I do suffer from vertigo. I find when I come home that swaying feeling can last for 2-3 weeks, even a months sometimes. It doesn't really bother me too much except when I'm sitting still (as someone called it stillness sickness). I figure it's a pretty minor problem to be able to cruise. Coralc Posted June 8, 2017 #25 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Oddly, I only sometimes notice it after a lengthy cruise when I am in the shower at home for a couple of days. Bob, is correct, I don't have it much anymore. Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mal_de_debarquement
