Ocean Dancer Posted July 5, 2017 #26 Share Posted July 5, 2017 Nope. You have to give it back. It's not worth keeping anyway. Agree, thanks for clarifying. It would be nice to get one embroidered with your initials though. That may spark more people wearing them about the ship.:*

Rare John&LaLa Posted July 5, 2017 #28 Share Posted July 5, 2017 I think they felt it would take the pain away from making Diamond harder to attain when they made the major changes in 2011. Why was it harder to attain after 2011? Because of the nights vs credits?
Clarea Posted July 5, 2017 #29 Share Posted July 5, 2017 Why was it harder to attain after 2011? Because of the nights vs credits? Two reasons: They raised the points needed to 80. Used to be 10 credits, which was normalized to 70 points. They made cruises shorter than 7 days accumulate fewer points than 7-day cruises. Before 2011, you could make Diamond with 5 weekend (15 total days) cruises in a JS.

lenquixote66 Posted July 6, 2017 #31 Share Posted July 6, 2017 If they had I'd almost be Pinnacle now. (y) If only one could use all accumulated points on every cruise line
JAMESCC Posted July 6, 2017 #32 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Royal never offered extra points for booking early. NCL just ended a few months ago too. I don't like it but it ain't coming back. I didn't Royal never did that.

C&A began in 1997, did people get credit for trips made prior to that? We had 8 trips ( none with Royal) prior to that. Merion_Mom Posted July 6, 2017 #34 Share Posted July 6, 2017 It applied to cruises booked after Oct 4, 2013. I don't like to be pedantic (ok, it doesn't bother me at all ;) ), but double points for solo cruisers began on October 3, 2013. :)

Dan-P Posted July 6, 2017 #36 Share Posted July 6, 2017 We made Emerald in 5 cruises, and could have done it in less, as two of the cruises were short (4 and 6 night). On my 6th cruise, the first we sailed as Emerald, we earned enough points to make Diamond. So, our next cruise we do our first sailing as Diamond with 82 points. Sailing in JS or above, certainly helps build points quickly. Dan.
Rare John&LaLa Posted July 6, 2017 #37 Share Posted July 6, 2017 JS passengers on the Mariner repo will earn 82 points on one voyage. Granted it is officially three legs. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

I'll hopefully make it to be old enough to retire so I can go on more than a couple weeks of vacation per year. 😢 Dan.

Langley Cruisers Posted July 6, 2017 #42 Share Posted July 6, 2017 I just finished up a B6B on the Radiance. Nice. Just as a matter of curiosity, were you able to keep your same cabin for all 6 cruises?
