Pool deck is mostly identical.  Any idea what that covered area is on the upper pool deck area?

I can't help but notice that the water is a different color. Perhaps Chengkp can weigh in on the factors that could account for this drastic difference. 😋

I have to say that the Encore looks less and less like a ship I want to cruise on. Things are gone that I really enjoy.

  • No Spice H2O
  • No HATM
  • Things I would not really do, laser tag & race track. Lots of deck space used up for just a few passengers use.

Prefer an adult experience, this seems to have tipped over to a more family/kid focus.

Will have to ponder my current booking.

JMHO. 😊

The entire former location of laser tag is now deck space and I'm guessing will likely be an adult only space to make up for losing the former location of Spice H2O.

I agree with losing HATM.  That's a huge loss in my opinion.

Cruises used to for older people and wealthy people.  Then cruise lines started trying to attract families. Marketing research shows the habitual cruiser will always book cruises. The marketing is to lure first timers and millennials who don't consider cruising a vacation option.  Long story short, NCL is already getting your/our business.  They want new customers.  LOL

Maybe it will be an adult space, but they would have to put a bar up there and hot tubs and a fancy water feature. It can't just be lounge chairs squished together in the sun. I see no indication on these renderings that that is happening.

Looking at the photo of Bliss.  I did not realize how much deck space Laser Tag took up.  At first glance you would think its crazy for NCL to put laser tag aft with so much deck space.  But Encore is actually getting the same about of deck chair space.  I am sure all the engineers figured this out 😉

We started cruising 30 years ago, when we were younger, in our 20s, so I agree cruising has changed.

It has become a theme park on a ship but doesn't  quite do either the cruising or theme park experience well then. Big theme park fans.

Agree though, cruising will always have my business. I really like that there are more  choices than ever, and broadening my horizons with other cruise lines.

Again, JMHO. 😊

I really admire the dare to change the aft part of the ship. It clearly sends a message to remove the adults only sun area to a fee based gaming area.   It shows the generational shift in marketing. Many will miss the adults only zone while families with kids will welcome this change.  I liked Spice H20 but never cared for the changes after Epic.  I missed the tiered seating and real swimming pool.  Those cool down zones were cheezy IMHO.

Should be interesting!

Agreed.  It was nice on the Epic but I was surprised at how uninspired the space was on Bliss.

Doug, I'm pretty inexperienced in this whole rendering/reality deck plan thing goes but does it look as though you could watch both the laser tag arena and the race track from the race track "grandstand" or am I envisioning a too large scope there?

I'd love to be able to watch both while sitting and enjoying a drink and just egging on players in both venues.

It definitely appears that there will at least be a partial view of the laser tag arena...

Have you heard if the casino setup will be the same as it is on the Bliss re separating the smokers and nonsmokers?  Thanks. Looking at a March 2020 trip and trying to talk some friends who are gamblers & who love Celebrity b/c of the smoke free casinos into coming w/us.

You know it’s open-air, right?  There’s no roof over it.

I did not get that.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I like the laser tag idea generally,  just not in such prime real estate.  I wish that outdoor, open space would be dedicated to something more worthy.
