No more First Cabin Access for Diamonds/Platinums?

For those of you arguing with firemanbobswife about what is still on the website and what never was, let me try to clarify because you're completely misunderstanding what was on there and what is now gone. If you look in the FAQ's at the FTTF info, you'll notice that with each FTTF perk, it also includes this statement: "Note: This is also a benefit for VIFP Diamond and Platinum guests." That statement used to be included with the First Access to Stateroom perk. Now it is not there.

 

You're the one who isn't comprehending what's being said.

 

Just FYI, in order to insert images directly in the body of a post, you first have to upload them to an image hosting website of some kind. Then you use the URL (web address) of that picture to insert it into the post. Most people on here used to use Photobucket, but last year they decided to force everyone to upgrade to a paid subscription in order to post images to other websites. That's why, if you go back to older posts that once had these images, there will be a bunch of Photobucket error messages where the pictures used to be.

This is exactly why cruise lines can get away with what they do. People will continue sailing on them no matter what. This reminds me of the abusive boyfriend that keeps beating his girlfriend, but she won’t leave him.

I am wondering if this has to do with cutbacks in room stewards. Maybe if there are a lot of diamond and platinum on a cruise then the stewards aren't able to get cabins ready earlier.

Quite the timing on this, just when they increased fttf. It's an attempt to force us to buy it. I hope people refuse and they are forced to rethink this.

A while back wasn't there talk of changes to the loyalty tier? I thought there would be something added, not taken away.

The easiest way to add photos is to do it from your phone with the CC app or Tapatalk. No need for the song and dance routine required when doing it from your computer. It's as easy as uploading photos to Facebook.

I have gotten FTTF since they started selling this. I get it because I am in a wheelchair and it's easier to be able to drop off the carryons in the cabin before all the luggage gets in the hallway. But it has now gone up way too high to be affordable for us.

 

I never wanted to be in with the Diamond and Platinum cruisers until I get to that level. They earned and paid for that level of service. Like I said, I only get it because of being in a wheelchair and it being easier to get to my cabin and drop things off before the hallway becomes impassable for me when the luggage gets there.

Unless they begin locking the hallway doors leading to the cabins, I will continue to enter and drop my backpack on a chair in the cabin as soon as I board the ship. I have gotten used to dropping my heavy backpack off so I don't have to shlep it around the ship until 1:30.

I like John a lot. However, his track record on accurate info has been less than stellar. Remember when they changed the VIFP program and he said no one would be downgraded? Wasn’t true. That’s just one example. I don’t think he intentionally gives bad info. He can only tell us what has been relayed to him and somewhere along the line there is a disconnect.

 

I really hope this is not true and everything stays the same. Maybe when Carnival hears about the concerns people have about this that they would take it off the table for consideration if it was ever on there. Just like the aft pools. Enough of us complained and they reversed course.

I’m hoping so. The fact remains that he has dismissed other things as fake news and they weren’t. So until they change the website back, I won’t believe it. Sentences on websites don’t erase themselves. Someone was told to do it.
