Had a lovely day today. It was my nephews 12th birthday so we took him on the fforest coaster and then had a lovely evening ripping into our rather misguided lefty Marxist brown shirt Corbinista neighbour whilst enjoying a lovely Bas Armagnac. Life doesn't get much better.

Enjoyed a lovely weekend out and about.... but most certainly didn’t miss the ‘Bodyguard ‘ drama last night.

It is rather a bit ott in quite a few ways but still excellent...l do however find myself shouting out loud...’That wouldn’t happen’!!!

A lot of the PPO’s have trauma history but still thrive on the adrenaline rush...the bodyguard who was with Diana in the crash lives locally and continues to work.

 

Tried to get into the new ‘Vanity Fair’ drama after but not getting it at the moment 🤨

 

So many of us building up for vacations...my London weekend beckons and I’m so looking forward to the break....fridge leftovers all week!!

We fly to Athens October 23. About a month after our cruise return.

All arrangements complete. I must draw out the tree however.

WOW!! Didn't realize till Spins' post as to how bad had been that storm with its severe pounding of South Florida. Really challenging!! Good luck in surviving. And watch out for those in the states where it is headed. Appreciate Lois' good mention of today being Labor Day in the USA. Happy day off!

Packing exercises have commenced! But after finishing the full rack of ribs, we are too stuffed to really get back to it.

 

How is the packing coming along, J.P. and Chris?? Time is very, very close!! Saturday you will be boarding the Silver Wind, right? Looked at your wonderful itinerary. Lots of great port stops. Wonderful that you will be in Rouen. Below is a little preview visual to help build excitement for one of the key locations that we enjoyed last June while traveling on the Silver Spirit.

Here are just two of my visuals from visiting Rouen Cathedral last June. Spectacular setting. Some guy named Monet did well painting this place. Second is of a mass was being conducted in a portion of this Cathedral during our visit and this was very moving to hear that organ music, etc.:

Two more sleeps! Packing was pretty much done as of yesterday evening. We each have a rollaboard and they look 2/3 full at most. Should be able to live out of what we'll put into our carry-on backpacks, without opening the suitcases, until we embark in Copenhagen.

 

We just need to repack the cases, and get our toiletries squared away tonight. Don't want to save it for the last night (tomorrow night) because it feels much better to have that out of the way early. Plus, tomorrow night we have to do a water change in the aquarium so we will be otherwise occupied. Wednesday we work all day then drive to the airport after work. So everything has to be ready by tomorrow night.

 

And yes, I did bring my suit for formal night. And Chris has a few nice dresses. So we won't look like total riff-raff, and we will definitely meet the dress code. Seems like we're not bringing enough but it seems like everything we need is there. Counting on that free laundry!

I just watched Episode 1 of Bodyguard. It's entertaining... but I have to wonder why there are no males (except him) above the rank of constable on the police force: the assault team leader is female, the sniper is female, the explosives expert is female, his boss is female... :confused:
